It's most likely multiple takes and delay you are hearing. He said he is using the Roomworks reverb, at least this was the case in 2010, could be different now.
its good to know i'm not the only one who does this, i feel i have more control over the desired effect this way.
I send all vocals to a verb and delay bus. Set the send level to unity, on the verb bus for example, keep it 100% wet and user the fader on the verb bus to blend it in
I too put reverb on individual tracks a lot too. But sometimes I will bus the kick snare and toms to a reverb aux just to give it a really large sound for a certain section in a song. Nowadays that I have more inputs I will just record a room mic too and that usually does the trick for some big roomy sounds as well.
