Does anyone know if these are the same tracks on the band's Panic Room single or are they only available on the special edition? What are the tunes like?

These are the two different tracks...
I haven't found a Riverside song that I didn't like... How about you?

Same here. They are one of my favourites but I believe that they should put some more musicianship to the guitars and keyboard parts.

I only have Second Life Syndrome, but it is indeed really good. Are the other albums worth a purchase also?

Without trying to sound like a fanboy, I'd say all three Riverside albums are essential. I do think they got better with each disc unlike some who still consider their first the best.
