For each song the booklet says "Music: I.Peersen"...ok, now look at the band photo page: Kjellson, Isdal, Larsen, Bekkevold, Bjornson - no Peersen! wtf??

May be a humorous play on the fact that "Peersen" is kinda similar to "Person." But what do I know.

I think Ivar Bjornsson and Ivar Peersen are the same person. That would be the guitarist.

I believe Peersen is his birth name, no idea why they put it in one part of the book but not the other, though.

I have 3 Enslaved albums but I can't really seem to get into any of them. They're sort of overated IMO. A good band, sure, definitely. A great band, no I wouldn't say so. Looking at the booklet, that is a bit weird. Why do musicians have to have stupid made up names anyway?

One of the best bands working in metal today. There always pushing their creativity. And their songwriting is second to none. Give this band some attentive and repeated listens. Enslaved's music always seems to take time to reveal itself. I've been saying this for the last couple of years, Ice Dale, is one of the best guitarists in music today. Don't sell this band short, man. Give them another chance, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor.

nicely said. there use to be an enslaved appreciation thread, someone should revive it so we can continue the praise.

p.s. vertebrae is brilliant. i dont here alot about it around here, but i wish more people would give it a chance and realize that its not "Isa II"

Vertebrae obliterates eos. Fact is Enslaved are better at this stage of their career than Opeth. Opeth reached a higher peak (mayh, sl, bwp all better than anything by enslaved IMO) BUT they at this late stage of their careers are making more consistent albums than Opeth. To put out Vertebrae at their 10th release is amazing. Watershed on a bands 9th is less impressive iyam. Overall Opeth in my mind are a better band with their back catalogue as impressive as theirs almost no metal band has much chance making material to compete overall against them. But ATM they are better metal bands than Opeth, esoteric, dso, negura bunget, alcest, enslaved etc. Iyam Dso are the first metal band I have heard that actually have a chance at overtaking them for me overall.

I have Vertebrae (Just came in the mail this week!), Isa, and Ruun. I think they're a good band, no doubt. In fact, they better than 85% of today's metal bands but I don't consider them amazing is all. The name thing is the same in the Vertebrae booklet BTW.

I like Below the Lights and Monumension more than those 3 tbh. But they all molest. Definitely get those.

I hate to be a pest but you should have wrote "hear"
Three creative writing classes have turned me into a word douche.
Anyway, Enslaved=awesome. I still need to get Monumension, Below the Lights and Vertebrae.
