Also, Caffrey says that Savatage will make "an appearance"

This one seems to have been worded VERY carefully to potentially indicate that there is NO guarantee of a full blown set.

not saying it won't happen. I think we all hope it will.

My guess is that O'Neill won't do the Savatage set half-assed. Personally, I think he'll go all out, considering it will be the last set of the festival. As far as Jon & Zak are concerned, they'll be fine to put 100% in the Tage set. Zak has little to do with TSO and Jon is a "behind the scenes guy". As far as Caffery, Pitrelli, Plate and Middleton are concerned...they'll kick some ass! Hell, it's not like they're killing themselves during a TSO set...let's be honest.

I think they already said that Zak was not involved.

I would bet that TSO is the final headliner, and that Savatage is playing the final hour reserved for the main stage closer. So, probably 7-9 songs.

Judging from what I'm reading he's going to be, but who knows. Honestly, it would surprise me if he is, but it would be the proper way to do it for the fans. For some reason, I'm thinking that he and O'Neill had a falling out at some point during or before the P&M recordings. Again, I just read that somewhere and don't know if it's actually accurate. I've never been able to figure out why in the world he isn't more involved with TSO. He's only done a few backing vocals for them and that's it.

Very cool. The lineup actually looks pretty strong overall. The 2014 lineup didn't appeal to me all that much, but I'm going to have to strongly consider going in 2015.

SAVATAGE VOCALIST ZAK STEVENS ON WACKEN OPEN AIR 2015 REUNION SHOW - "IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME TO BE A PART OF IT"

During an interview with BraveWords scribe Carl Begai about the new Circle II Circle album, Live At Wacken: Official Bootleg, vocalist Zak Stevens addressed the news that Savatage will reunite for a special show at Wacken Open Air in 2015:

"I can tell you very little, but I'm the bringer of the official word on this (laughs). It's so early in the process so there's not a lot that can be said. It's very tight-lipped right now and with good reason, and I'm sure it'll be that way throughout the process to keep a good secret. We don't know what the show is going to look like right now, which should come as no surprise; it's going to take a while to plan. But, we're all talking right now, which is beautiful and I'm very happy about that. I couldn't be more positive about it. That's been a wonderful thing for me, just touching base with the guys and spending more time on the phone with them than I have in years. That's really all I can tell you right now."

"In my opinion it's probably going to be into 2015 - hopefully not too far into the year - before we get the next big update. Obviously, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has lots to do with their North American Christmas tour, which is literally 100 shows since they have two companies out there. Circle II Circle has a European tour coming up in October as well, so everybody involved in the Savatage reunion show has a lot going on until the new year comes. I imagine we'll move on from there, but it's been awesome so far."

"It means something to every individual guy involved in this. It's big part of us and our careers. Savatage is in our hearts and it means so much to me to be a part of it."

Organizers for the Wacken Open Air confirmed that Savatage will reunite for the festival next year, an excluisve one-off reunion show for Europe. Guitarist Chris Caffery recently checked in with the following:

"I am extremely happy to make this post! Our friends at the Wacken festival announced that Savatage will be finally playing again! Wacken 2015! Both Savatage and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will make an appearance. Savatage will close the festival that night following TSO's first ever European festival appearance. I have been waiting for them to announce this for a few weeks. It was hard to keep it a secret! Yes, legion, our patience has finally paid off..."

sounds like they have some huge plans....so all the people saying it will only be a few songs will be sadly mistaken.

I think all we know for sure is that Zak will be a part of it.
Still hasn't been confirmed what the set will be like.

As Zak even stated, with TSO working on preparing the Christmas tour, the Savatage rehearsals wont even commence until early next year.

Would certainly be ace if they do perform a full performance.

The addition of Zak tho does make that more likely.

I swear you're arguing just to argue. They wouldn't have made it this big of a deal if it wasn't a Savatage show. I'm betting at least a minimum of an hour. They have plenty of time to rehearse it prior to next year's show.

It appears Jason doesn't just play Savatage covers anymore. Evidently he has joined the band as he has inside info. :Smug:

LOL - Yes, I do have connections inside the band, but this has been extremely tight lipped. No one I know had any idea any of this was going to happen.

I am not arguing at all Simon.

As a fan myself, I hope they play a 2 hour performance.

Not sure why you are sore at my opinions on this when even the members themselves have not been firm on what the performance is going to entail.

I am just waiting to hear Bob try to justify that this would have sold out this quickly even without Savatage being there, and that they aren't a draw anyhow....

Not all bands announce exactly what a performance will entail upon being announced. They're probably still working out details and such. Or, more likely, they want to keep it as a surprise.

Definitely they are a draw, especially it being their only exclusive show. However, Wacken always has a performance like this that results in a sellout. Last year it was Emperor.

What exactly would a "Savatage Reunion" be? Correct me if I'm wrong here but has Savatage not had a consistent (same) line- up on more than a couple of albums at a time? And since all of Jon's other projects are basically his thing with whatever clowns he puts together for that album, would that not still essentially be Savatage?
The way I see it there is no way to have the original band now and ANYTHING Jon does is basically Savatage. Any band who puts together is going to sound like Savatage, they all will play Savatage songs, and well let's be honest when we talk about it we all says "we are going to see Savatage in September.
As far as I'm concerned Jon is Savatage and what ever he does is Savatage at this point.
In closing I so looking forward to hearing 'Streets' straight through.
