This band is from Latvia and they have a new album coming soon for you authentic folksters. This song rocks damn well, especially when it speeds up into that galloping riff with the hurdy gurdy melody. Only thing is the opening verse riff is a dead ringer for Priest's Beyond the Realms Of Death chorus riff. Still this is good stuff.

Do they sing clean? I'm not a fan of death vocals in folk music. Sounds incongruous.

They are singing in their mother tongue and even though it's rough I wouldn't call it growling exactly either. It's a rough sort of shouting.

Wish I lived closer to where Heathen Crusade was.....so many awesome bands played that short-lived fest.

Skyforger are one of the elite in their class, and it's bands like that that need to teach the new age pagan bands a thing or two.

Really good band. For those who hate the rouch vocals, they put out a disc of all folk songs with smooth clean vocals on it.
