SLAYER Management Dismisses Reports Of One-Off Gig In Arizona

A spokesperson for SLAYER has rejected as a "complete fraud" recent Internet reports that SLAYER and TESTAMENT will be teaming up for a show in Arizona.

Several Web postings have surfaced over the course of the last few days advertising a SLAYER/TESTAMENT show on January 24 at the Grey Hills High School "Pit" in Tuba City.

The fictional concert, which is being "promoted" by "Red Sun Productions", is being advertised as "SLAYER's first show on an Indian reservation." In addition, the perpetrators of the fraud are claiming that SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya is discussing a possible DVD filming due to the significance of the show."

In an e-mail to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, a representative of Sanctuary Management, which handles SLAYER, stated about the show announcement, "We have nothing to do with this. Absolutely untrue."

SLAYER are believed to be continuing the songwriting process for their follow-up to 2001's "God Hates Us All", tentatively due in the summer.

Question for DE - I was going to college in AZ in the early-mid 90s, and remember an ad for a Testament gig on an Indian reservation, that was going to get recorded for a live CD. The show seemed to mysteriously evaporate, and months later the Live at the Fillmore disc emerged. My question is, was that an attempt at fraud as well (maybe the same people who are behind this new Slayer/Testament hoax?), or was Testament actually planning that 90s taping show but pulled the plug on the gig at the last minute?
