I've always considered Sleaze and Glam as two different genres with Sleaze being more blues oriented but the two do crossover at times. Sleaze so far not mentioned: As for Glam, you can't discount early Bon Jovi and Europe. s
Now were just getting into shit. As someone who grew up on this stuff, I can honestly see no redeeming value in Bon Jovi, Warrant, or Europe. And now for the musical stylings of Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum, first with Vinnie Vincent: And then with Tim Kelly: Note: Technically, Robert Fleischman did the vocals on the VVI track, but it's Mark Slaughter in the video.
I also grew up on 'this stuff' and whether you like them or hate them they were a valid part of the scene. Without these bands many people would not have had their first exposure or 'gateway band' that lead them onto other Glam, Sleaze or Metal bands. For me the band that got me into wanting to play guitar was the Beatles, which I was introduced to via their cartoons on kids morning TV but the band that really carved my path was KISS. My first KISS album was Alive, I bought it soon after getting into them via their song I Was Made For Loving You which was a big hit on Aus. radio. Oddly enough Dynasty was probably the 3rd or 4th KISS album I bought. They also entered the Glam scene for a while. s

KISS were awesome back in the 70's,my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I first saw them as a kid.
The first decent band I played in was Dungeon. We were heavily inspired by Dokken particularly George Lynch. The early stuff was a glam style of power metal you may be able to hear a few influences. We also played Just Got Lucky live. s
They inspired so many glam bands and many musos, Diamond Darrell had an Ace Frehley tattoo on his chest. s
