    Hi :),
    Actually I got a question about Pat McGrath.
    i wanted to know what snare drum he used in the album Catalyst.
    Does anyone know? cause I'm a drummer and that sound is very cool. :cool:

    Well, the only one from Prototype lurking here is Krogan. But seeing that the last time he was online is 7th April... May be he went on vacation or something =)

    Sorry for not getting a reply here to you sooner!

    I'll have to check with Pat since he's used several different snares over the years, but I think this one may have been a Spaun snare. I'll ask him and let you know!

    Sorry guys... I have been on tour with Exodus for a most of the last 4 months and didn't get to check the Proto board.

    I'm pretty sure that Pat used a Spaun brass snare drum on Catalyst but I'm not sure of the exact model or size. There may be more info available on Pat's drum kit here:

    Keep in mind though that the snare tone that you hear on Catalyst is actually a mix between his natural snare tone/sound and a sample that Neil Kernon laid on top for each hit. The two together is what creates the snare sound on the album mix. Hope that helps!
