Alright so at risk of sounding like an absolute noob (I'd say I'm an intermediate noob) I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some trouble I'm having with a snare sample I just bought.

So I'm comparing it to a second sample I have (the second IS pre-processed).
Sample 1 is ridiculously quiet, even after playing around with eq, compression and stereo widening (provided I'm doing it correctly).

At a similar loudness to sample 2, sample 1 is peaking like 5db over with sample 2 roughly 3db under the ceiling.

Anyone have any idea what the hell I need to do to fix this?

    Sample 1:

    Sample 2:

Both are set to download if needed.

    Thanks in advance!
