    Ive had Viva emptines for a whiel now.......and pretty much liek every song on it.....also I love OPETH.........so can u guys suggest more sbands liek those.....melodic yet heavy adn with clean Vox...Id pprecaite it...........PEAC EOUT

    well, there's nothing like katatonia indeed.

    their melodies, creativity and sadness can't be found anywhere.
    don't forget the fact that they are from sweden.
    and they've got that special sound only found in that place.

    but there are a lot of bands that use clean vox and hard guitars.
    you can try the following bands-albums:

    moonspell - sin pecado
    paradise lost - paradise lost
    on thorns i lay - egocentric
    sentenced - the cold white light

    most people would also recommend you the band "porcupine tree".
    in my opinion this does not sound like katatonia, but it's cool anyway...

    Check out Lost in tears latest album..it has some very Katatonia inspired music..not in the vocals though

    Rapture - Songs For The Withering

    These guys remind me of Katatonia. Throw in some Death Vocals and a little Doomier sound and you get Rapture. They're worth checking out if you haven't already.

    October Tide, Rapture, and Daylight Dies (particularly their first EP, Idle). All are quality and are Katatonia-influenced, yet they all have a sound of their own.

    Not bad but there's something wrong with it, can't really find out what it is. Guitars are a bit over the top anyway in some parts. Vocals ain't my thing but that's not badly done I guess.

    agalloch, forest of shadows, old lacrimas profundere feeling resembles some old katatonia, although they are even sadder :(, what's the name of the rapture's members main band? paradise lost, provenance.. etc

    I thought Rapture was the main band??
    I know one (or more) of the guys are in a band called rain paint. Check them out they are really good
