SYMPHONY X BASSIST BRINGS BACK CLASSIC HEAVY METAL WITH HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM EVER

On September 26th, UDR / Warner will release the first ever solo release from Mike LePond of Symphony X.

Introducing Mike LePond’s Silent Assassins, a fantastic heavy, power metal album that combines all influences of Mike LePond’s favorite bands from the past and present. This album is packed with kick ass vocals, scorching riffs and epic styling – there’s something in there for any style of metal head!

Mike LePond’s Silent Assassins features guest performances by guitarist Metal Mike (Halford, Testament), lead guitarist and drum producer Michael Romeo (Symphony X), vocalist Alan Tecchio ( Hades, Watchtower), and, of course, main man Mike LePond on bass and rhythm guitar.

Mike LePond states: "This CD is all me. I wrote all the music, and all the lyrics. It’s one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done and I can’t wait to share it with my fans. Join me as we celebrate the glory of heavy metal with my first ever, solo release!"

Metal Mike remarks: "Superbly crafted songs! Highly recommended to fans who like their metal true and hard." Alan Tecchio adds: "The themes Mike wrote about lyrically and the energy of full throttle riffage was a welcome back to my power metal roots."

Whoo. Alan Tecchio. There's a love/hate kind of dude for you. Is he singing on all the tracks?

If he sings like he did on Control & Resist, I'd LOVE it.

However, being more of a "traditional" metal album, I'm not expecting that.

    Curious to hear this nonetheless.

Because I was a Kickstarter contributor to the project, Mike sent me the CD last week. It's been in constant rotation in my car. Really loving it. The musical compositions and riffs are excellent! Really grabs you. I love it more and more with each rotation. The vocals are up and down for me, though always solid. The instrumentation is the real hook and keeps it exciting and interesting throughout multiple plays. I suggest you put it on the "must buy" list.

I feel like I'm pimping the Madman around here , but he showcased this on his show last week. It kicks ass! I probably wouldn't have even given it a shot, due to just not caring for the bass guitar. With that said, it's indeed worth everyone's time to check out.

The bass has a very poppy, boingggie sound. Not sure if I like it or not (the bass).
I picked this cd up in Atlanta. It is very strong!
I'd recommend this to anybody who likes Power metal.
Alan Tecchio sounds fantastic too! Probly his best since Non Fiction.
I wasn't a big fan of the reunited Hades, obviously

I got this cd shortly after getting home from ProgPower and just recently have had the time to sit and really listen to it. Like others have said, I think this is an awesome disc sure to have a high spot in my year end top cd list. Not sure what their band situation is in regards to touring or playing live but would love to see them live, especially at ProgPower.
