Thoughts on this?
My opinion: will the West ever learn?
Had kind o' hoped most of the general public could see through, or at least remain skeptical of, any major news propaganda by now. Having heard some of my co-workers' opinions though, that's apparently not the case.
All this feigned outrage by politicians like John Kerry is just too much for me to take. What really pisses me off is all this chest-beating by NATO leaders like France and the UK, which puts the US in a very uncomfortable position. The UK has cut so much of its defense budget that it's doubtful they could even protect their own island, much less launch a full-scale invasion. Now they've painted themselves in a corner and are expecting an American response and once again for the US to lead the charge. Naturally, American politicians tend to fall for this hook, line, and sinker every time and end up committing forces and spearheading the operation after all the fellatio and, "Oh America, you're so powerful and you've got such big, thick, heavy weapons...come on, you can take em! Don't be a pussy!" buttering up by her "allies". And of course, we fall for it EVERY. FUCKING. TIME. "Derrrrrrrrr otay! Let's go, yuk yuk!" Watch all that EU outrage over the NSA disappear right before your very eyes.
If Turkey claims Article 5 of NATO's commitment of forces, we are FUCKED. At that point we'd be forced to mobilize forces...everyone in NATO...and these politicians are making it easier and easier every day with their rhetoric.
O-fuckstick will save the day, no worries. He'll be patting himself on the back at a press conference in no time.
Who cares about that, Dead Winter! You should be posting about real news, like Miley Cyrus' underwear and Ben Affleck becoming Batman.
Oh yeah, I forgot! America is shocked that a 20-year-old girl is sexual!
He is already prepping his speech!
I live in syria
actually, when there's a profit from war, no one can learn, actually, the middle east is the one who should learn of from his mistakes, he made a million mistake, but didn't learn from any.
I think you don't support the attack because it will put america and europe in problems and maybe a financial problems and dept.
I don't support the attack because it may kill a lot of people, in iraq, more than a million people was killed due to the war, I don't want any of my people to be dead, though they're stupid and already killing each other.
I'm 16 years old guitarist who wants to make an instrumental solo album, inspired by Jeff Loomis and many others, I don't want to live in fear to the rest of my life.
So the american attack won't make my life any better, and won't protect the national security of america, which is not threatened at all, so there's no point of it,unless killing people is a good reason.
so we share the same opinion, but for different reason.
Let another country other than the US handle this.
I feel for the people who were gassed, but will killing thousands more civilians trying to remove the Assad regime be worth it?
Although, you can't fault western critics for their reasons (not that you are). The Middle East is a problem going back centuries, and no amount of western influence is going to change it without staggering loss of life. We in the west don't want people to die any more than you do on either side, whether it be rebels or Assad's forces or our own. I don't claim to speak for the west but my personal opinion is shared by many of us here, and I think it's safe to say we're just fed up with the middle east conflicts, both through the middle east's own faults as well as ours.
That said, yours is a society that must change if it wants to be a part of the 21st century, and it must change from within. That means civil rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. That means if someone says Muhammed was pig-fucking pedophile who liked taking it in the ass, then people shouldn't bomb an embassy in protest. That means equal rights for all. It means TOLERANCE. Until the middle east learns tolerance, nothing will ever change.
Killing people into submission will not bring about those things, whether it's done by the west or by Syria's own people.
I agree. Also: I wish you well, my friend.
I hope your dream about making a guitar solo album will come true!
Where in Syria are you from?
Yeah, same. Hope you'll be able to make that album. Stay safe, and try not to die!
sorry for bringing up old threads, but the internet was gone for 40 days, now its back!!!
I'm from aleppo, and thanks people,I'll try not to die
Well we decided not to bomb the shit out of you (the right choice IMO), did the international spotlight improve things for you guys at least?
