I finished Berserk a couple weeks a go and was kind of disappointed once it was over, but that may be in part due to a friend in 4th grade that always told me how awesome it was and me never getting around to it until now. I'm guessing for those that read manga it would have been great to continue off of but as-is it felt kind of meaningless because of the ending. But up until that I more or less enjoyed it (less because of the fat Blue Whale guy and some general overlength in the fight scenes, more in Griffith's intrigue). And that opening theme was one of the most hideous things I've ever heard.

I'm not sure if anime has been keeping up with Attack on Titan, but if not you guys are seriously missing out. The show has definitely picked up from a horrifically slow start.

Also I'm now on season two of Honey and Clover, loving it. Brilliantly done josei/slice of life type show - with very little "unrealistic" type things happening outside of one particular character. Seems like I could very well be taking a look into the lives of a group of friends who are attending an arts college...

@The Butt: It starts out great but then it gets just really stupid. Apparently they didn't wait for the manga before making the anime. Booo.

Yeah, Attack on Titan is amazing. It's really annoying that every single episode is a cliffhanger and there's only 3 more episodes left and I still am anticipating next episode. Ughh.

Madoka Magica and Attack on Titan have made anime interesting again for the first time in several years.

I watched the last 3 episodes tonight and immediately came here to discuss it but was too fucking lazy to find the anime thread. Glad you were not as lazy of a fuck as I. Yes the ending to the first season was infinitely more gratifying than I had suspected it would be. Sure, it left opening for the second season but nothing too huge that you were either pulling out your hair in anticipation or feeling cheated (I call it the Berserk syndrome.)

I thought about picking up the manga but I will probably just wait for the next season to come around. It should give me enough time to finish watching other anime I have only half-assed devoted my watching time to since AoT captured my interest.

So I'm confused, is Attack on Titan really coming to an end? I'm still super confused as to the reasoning why things are happening. They have quite a bit to tie up in the last episode if that's really the last episode!

*********Spoiler alert for anime I haven't read any manga*****

I still don't get why Annie tried to capture Erin. Still don't know what the hell is in that basement. And in the end of the last episode a titan appeared in the walls. & it looked like a new one too. It didn't like the Colossal or the Armored... I'm still so confused. -.- What an awesomely aggravating show.

Edit: OMG are you kidding me? That was just the end to the SEASON? Not the actually ANIME? Oh dear god I don't think I can watch this in anticipation like this.

My guess on why Annie wants to capture Eren has something to do with some kind of conflict between what I'm assuming is an organization that sent Annie into the walled area and Eren's father's motives.

This isn't likely to be the case, but is just my speculation.

It sounds right. I too think there's an underground organization, but am unsure of their motives. PArt of me wants to say they want to overthrow the government and part of me thinks they are the ones secretly ruling. Maybe hiding a secret, like they created the titans and have no intention of getting rid of them or something like that. It's funny that in those two big stories in the last episode it told the story of a guy who was trying to dig underneath the walls, and ended up disappearing without a trace. Whatever Eren's dad is keeping is in a basement, thought that was a cool correlation. The walls go underground, so there must be something underground too.

Anyways, can't wait for the next season. Really good anime.

Over 10 episodes into Attack on Titan. It's pretty entertaining, though the post-apocalyptic pseudo-Gundam premise is about as generic as these things can get.

Love me some cyberpunk anime, the aesthetics of crowded and neonlit high tech cities are depressing yet somehow so alluring.

List of shows in the video:

    Parasite Dolls
    Armitage III
    Bubblegum Crisis 2033
    Ghost In The Shell
    Black Magic m66
    AD Police Files
    Armitage Dual Matrix

I've seen Ghost In The Shell and Bubble Gum crisis so far. The latter is really good, don't get fooled by the silly name.

I've never been able to really get into shows like that for some reason or another

Just finished up Nodame Cantabile, and really liked it but the third season left such an unsatisfied feeling with me...need to read the final manga chapter of it because for some reason it went unanimated

Great show overall though - the focus on classical music makes it stand out a lot from others of its style

Started watching Aoi Hana - seems really nice, quiet and peaceful - and the art style is great, though not quite on the level of Hourou Musuko (which has the greatest art work I've seen in an anime, in terms of conveying the overall FEEL of the work - others may be more technically impressive however)

And just for reference if anyone is interested, I've got my MAL profile - need to update it some (need to change my ratings because I don't like having SO many so damn high - need to explain my ratings on my profile or add in an explanation of the ranges each # represents), but otherwise a fair representation of my overall tastes in anime

I'm watching a show called Ergo Proxy at the moment. You may want to check it out.

I use to be obsessed with cyber anime. Should one day take a picture of my collection got at least half of those... But Ghost in the Shell always put me to sleep. Armitage and Bubblegum Crisis were cool though.

I've been really marathoning Detective Conan for the past month or so.

My roommate'a really into Detective Conan. The concept doesn't appeal to me, though.

What does appeal to me a whole lot is Ergo Proxy. I really dig the atmosphere and themes.

I'm watching Kids On The Slope right now and it's pretty goddamn good so far. It has one of the best male friendships in any anime I've seen and the focus it has on jazz is really unique and makes it standout quite a bit.

Done by Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy) so it's no surprise that it is very high quality.

I marathoned the anime "Another" and am on episode 8 now. It's sort of like the Final Destination of anime. Shit gets real after episode 5. Sooo good. Basically about a class that is cursed and if they "break the rules" a student or a student's family member dies every month. What anime is everyone else watching?
