I've heard them play shitty live and I've also heard them sound amazing. They CAN play their own instruments. Valley of the Damned from a guitar standpoint is actually pretty straight-forward compared to their newer material and yes they are well known for being heavy drinkers, their mic stands actually have drink holders for beer lol. It's funny because I've heard alot of musicians say they play better drunk.
Tough choice between Slayer - Reign in Blood, Carcass - Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious and Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
I've said that before, but DoDS is way better than BMD, in fact I think the latter is overrated. Although the music is awesome, Akerfeld's vocals sound plain and boring in this album. I usually like his vocals, but they don't fit this album.
Human is a good call, I would have said that if Leprosy hadn't been my first Death album, so I have a soft spot for it.
i could go either way tbh, but i guess i just like the tracks on human slightly better. and speaking of painkiller, deaths cover is fucking amazing.
For me it comes close, Painkiller's my fave and my second fave is Jugulator. Yeah, not as good as the original, imo, but still awesome.
You are like the first person Ive seen post liking Jugulator I like it as well. But I love Painkiller too.
I agree that Renkse is a much more awsome vocalist but the vocals on BMD fits the more "everyday depression"-feeling of the album just perfect imo. I can't decide which album I like more nowdays actually.
Maybe in your personal opinion, but to most sane people Reign In Blood is the best metal album period.
