got a huge swab of games the last few days brought Final Fantasy XIII as soon as I got out of Hospital (PS3 version of course) yesterday got the 2D fighting game BlazBlue with the bonus arcade stick (little dodgy but fine for the game, yet to test it out with any other game) and today my best mate lent me God of War 3 & Heavy Rain have to say that Final Fantasy XIII is one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen! stunning to look at, perfect little details in the environment and characters but the start is a little boring because it is so straight forward -nothing to grasp you beyond how pretty it looks but then it gets prettier and prettier and the game picks up too not far into it and want to see how and where it goes haven't gone past the practice mode for BlazBlue yet not in the mood for a serious fighter right now and it's meant to be hard to master a lot so am going to find a good character and stick with them for a while so I get the hang of it all God of War 3 is like you expect big, bloody and oh-so brutal! starts by dropping you right into the game -stripped of your powers from the last game (bar an odd bit of magic) not that far into it really, just played to get a taste and it was like the two past games more focused on FF13 to really have GoW3 grip me yet to play Heavy Rain want a slab of time set aside for that one
I've been playing Just Cause 2 for the past couple of days. Been having some great fun with it. There is so much to see and do, and the amount of detail in everything is amazing. It looks spectacular flying over all the islands. It's way better than I was expecting. The amount of activities to do outside of main missions is ridiculous.
I got L4D cheap the other day, lots of fun, quite replayable, only played on normal so far. Done 4 of the 5 campaigns, have 18 of the 50 ach. Can't wait to play with others, will be a great game on co op I think.
Do you have it on PC? I love L4D and am always keen for COOP its great fun, a headset is pretty essential though. If you're on STEAM PM me your name and i'll add you to my friends list
On 360, and sorry, but I can't do the online thing. *grumbletelstragrumble* I don't have a good enough internet connection, which is probably a good thing, or I would be playing online all night!!!
Fuck co-op, versus is where it's at. My housemate and I used to be pretty decent at it, too. My SteamID is Poonis_ if anyone feels like a game of something sometime!
I'm filthy Windows XP isn't supported for LC2. Might have to upgrade to W7 soon. Anyone played Splinter Cell: Conviction yet? I'll be getting my copy tomorrow. Also pretty keen on Red Dead Redemption and Mafia 2 coming out next month.
Yeah, just played a game with my daughter today, was so cool. We are going to play again tomorrow night, with her bf, should be fun.
I'm playing this atm too, I actually find it frustrating how how much there is to do outside the missions, after 100%'ing 80+ settlements I'm now just doing the missions so I can finish the story and get onto the next game
for those yet to experience the goodness that is Portal, Valve is giving it away on Steam for the next few days you have to download a copy of Steam and sign up for an account but the game is free here is the link and the details: http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/
Sony the SOBs have changed their policy regarding Entropay accounts. Cannot purchase anything from the US store using my entropay card anymore!! BASTARDS!! Entropay are looking into the situation but it doesn't look promising... Links: http://twitter.com/entropay http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/...-EntroPay-for-Purchases-Anymore/td-p/45650507
Anyone got Red Dead yet? I'm waiting for Uni and my teaching prac to be finished this semester before I buy it.....
I got my copy the other day. It's pretty breathtaking. The scenery is simply amazing. Dialog and story is top notch. I haven't got into it enough to really give you a solid review, but from the 30 minutes that I played of it the other night I assure you its awesome. The map is about twice the size of the GTA:IV map, if not bigger. I'm surprised they've crammed so much shit into the game. I also picked up FEAR 2 for PC. I didn't realise the game was on two DVDs and needed to be run through Steam. After waiting an hour for it to install it was all worth it though. Has anyone played Alan Wake yet? I was tempted to get it, but I've heard mixed reviews, saying its only worth playing once as there is no multiple ending system like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
Heavy Rain was really good but so much bothered me such as how stiff the movement controls were, made it hard just to get across a room and do something and the huge kick in the nuts over the twist too, especially after all the emotional investment in playing other then those, a very good and interesting game also finished God of War 3 a couple of weeks ago (same time I finished Heavy Rain since both were both lent to me) and it's pretty much the same thing as the previous two games. fun but nothing new and jump controls truly set to make you rage (of the spartans) same weak ending as the last two games too
Can anyone recommend me a great FPS without crippling DRM? something I don't have to be fucking online to play the storyline missions. I just finished Fallout3, but something far-cryish or assasins creed-ish would be good. I like sneaking around in bushes and whacking the enemy with sniper rifles.
