They would sound sweet with a blast part over a heavy riff.Even a lasting thrash beat. They do some fast stuff, but nothing like Slayer or even Morbid Angel in the fast department.I guess that's what keeps them interesting eh?The only thing "fast" about Opeth is the double bass parts.Which is just fine in my novel."AprilEtheral" is the shit and ""wREATH" is killer also!

I thought one song is supposed to have blast beats over clean vocals, but I can't remember which song it is.

Yes, Roadrunner's press-release said that "The Lotus Eater" will feature clean vocal singing over the blast-beats.

But, fuck, doest it needed to start new topic? Why not to ask that little question in "Watershed"'s thread?

It's nice to have blasting for a change though I hope it's not going to be permanently part of Opeth's sound.

Only if they are played @ 666 bpm during the entire album. Otherwise it's probably shit.

The new album's gonna have fresh new ideas but also an "opeth old school" feeling! thats my guess from the material we have so far. Its gonna be the best opeth album ever!
