Hey guys, I seen some of you are interested in photography and I was thinking we could have a thread dedicated to it.
I recently got a little into it so I don't have any great pics but lets give this a go; these were done with a 5mpx sony-ericsson camera phone ( ) and a little contrast adjusting..

Please ignore all the self portraits - it was to track the growth of my moustache last year  I really should get around to taking them down...

I would like to be a pro, but baby steps at this point. I've had bits and pieces of paid work which is not shown on my flickr either (and some other stuff I'm sitting on)... Oh, and you guys might be interested to know I had a photo published in Metal Hammer mag once...

It seems you like riding that ND filter a lot! I like the (Niagara?) falls and the palm tree with the blurred clouds. I'm not really into HDR or composite images but whatever, you have some very good images here.

    Fucking great pics arv!

I'm a noob at this. I bought last year a Canon G10 and learnt some theory on internet about photography... I like to play with all manual modes and I hope next year I can get a decent reflex camera. I'll post my pics when i get home.

    Thanks guys!

Fabbio, the panorama is indeed Niagara Falls.

Shoot every day. If you don't have a decent DSLR with interchangeable lenses.. get one :) there is a lot of stuff available on the used market for very decent prices

It's a combination of shooting with great cameras and my editing technique. I use a Canon 5D Mark II and a Nikon D700. I find that the photos I take with the Canon tend to be more saturated already than those I take with the D700.

God I really need to invest in some longer glass :(

Your DOF is amazing. What Lens are you using?

    Question......

Was the Palm Tree shot at night with a long exposure time? Cause that's bad ass you got a daylight sky like that!

The 3 pictures you quoted were shot with (in order)
    Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye
    Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye
    Canon 15mm f/2.8 fisheye

I also use a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, a Nikon 50mm f/1.8, and a Canon 28mm f/2.8. Those are pretty much all of the lenses I use. I have one more on my list to buy which is a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L. That way I will be able to keep my telephoto on my Nikon and be able to switch to the Canon quickly when I need to switch from wide angle to telephoto in a short period of time without swapping lenses (have to do that a lot during weddings).

The exposure on the palm tree shot was 141 seconds at ISO800, so a little over 2 minutes. I have a badass tripod that stood up to the extreme winds on the beach that night.

    Thanks man!

Thanks dude.. I'm willing to bet you could sell your Olympus and pick up an older Nikon DSLR (D70 or something) with the money. Great camera, it's the one I started out with and it served me very well until I started doing weddings.
