METAL MAYHEM is proud to present and advise you about: THE ROCK HOUSE

We hope to be able to have an establishment which will enable "Metal Heads" the opportunity to get out and about, hear some great music in a comfortable, relaxed and totally METAL environment!

For all those people interested in knowing what the prices of drinks will be at "The Rock House", we have been able to negotiate a special rate for our patrons. These are the following prices as given to us; $2.00 Beer Pots and $4.00 Basic Spirits before midnight. After midnight, it will be $2.50 for Beer Pots and $5.00 for basic spirits.

Finally a once a month METAL ROCK CLUB that knows what to play and will not be afraid to play it! We will specialise in HEAVY METAL and nothing but HEAVY METAL! Non-stop METAL ANTHEMS all night long.

Each and every month we will be playing a TRUE mix of HEAVY METAL tunes. This will be a place for anyone that loves their METAL. This will be a place where METAL HEADS can go and listen, sing to your hearts content and basically loose your mind to your favourite tunes! You will be safe in the knowledge and be assured that you will be in a METAL environment and nothing else but a METAL environment! Just to add the ambience, we will have metal video clips on screen all night long!

    No filler tracks and the METAL classics will commence from the first to last track. We will endeavour to play something from the following bands on the opening night;

Immortal; Avantasia; Edguy; Amon Amarth; Blind Guardian; Dragonforce; Iced Earth; Kreator; Sodom; Helloween; Dark Throne; Opeth; Strapping Young Lad; Emperor; Cradle Of Filth; Gamma Ray; Judas Priest; Manowar; Iron Maiden; AC/DC; Motley Crue; Dokken; Vain; Ensiferum; Children Of Bodom; In Flames; Treat; Bon Jovi; Poison; Whitesnake; Stryper; Dissection; Mithotyn; Dark Tranquillity; Icon; Ozzy Osbourne; Destruction; Exodus; After Forever; Arch Enemy; Cannibal Corpse; Slayer; Soilwork; Morbid Angel; Metallica; Testament; Dimmu Borgir; Death; Deicide; The Haunted; Pantera; Hammerfall; Nightwish; At The Gates; Satyricon; WASP; Marduk; Mayhem; Persuader; Running Wild; Anthrax; Sonata Arctica; Stratovarius; Accept; Sepultura; Black Sabbath; Alice Cooper; Twisted Sister; Ugly Kid Joe; Possessed; and god damn anything else that we can fit into the night!!

THE ROCK HOUSE will open just before the Nightwish Melbourne gigs in March. Opening night is; SATURDAY 19th MARCH, 2005

The venue will be the; JOHN CURTIN HOTEL 29 LYGON STREET, CARLTON SOUTH.

The John Curtin Hotel is at the City end of Lygon Street, Carlton South. It is opposite TRADES HALL. It is also just a short walk from RMIT. Basically, it is almost on the corner of RUSSELL and VICTORIA STREETS in the city. Melway Ref: 2B, F11.

As a special feature on opening night and to celebrate the Oz tour of Nightwish, we will have a feature Nightwish bracket. We will also have a special Nightwish pack raffled, this will consist of a Nightwish long sleeve shirt, a Nightwish DVD and the limited edition platinum digi fold out version of "Once".

We are not going to reveal it yet, but we are going to have some awesome and unique competitions that will require crowd participation on the night! Finally, doors will open at; 8.00pm and we will rock on until 3.00am!

Entry will be $8.00. We advise all patrons to get in early as the music will commence at 8.00pm and like already advised, there will be no filler tracks on the night!! Each month, we will have genre/band tributes blended into the METAL mix!

Be proud and wear your favourite metal shirt or battle jacket on the night! Come down and see if we can lift the roof off the place with a rendition of "The Bard Song".

GET ROCKED AT THE ROCK HOUSE!

    See you all there.
If people in melbourne dont get their asses there, they have no right to complain about the lack of metal gigs/ clubs.

Keep it real guys, lets show 'bourne what we have and who we are

    Metal Maniacs!

The Rock House opened on Saturday the 19th March. Venue Management advised us that we were 11 people away from having a lock out on the night which pleases all for the mere fact that it proves that METAL will never die! It is just as well that we did not include some people on the "people counter" as venue management would have closed the doors on us!

We thank everyone that turned up and we hope that you all enjoyed the evening. We have an even bigger night planned next month when we will continue to play more classic metal tracks while paying homage to IRON MAIDEN and IN FLAMES on the night!

I looked at the setlist for the second night, and I didn't know half of it! Quite a surprise actually.

"For the upcoming Rock House, we will pay homage to both Metallica and Motley Crue. Therefore, either get dressed in your leathers and denim for Metallica or put the make-up on and tease the hair for Motley Crue!"

Part of the reason I haven't been is that I don't know if anyone I know goes. I always rock up to gigs alone because I always see heaps of people I know, but don't really want to rock up to (no pun intended) the Rock House or anywhere like that alone in case I don't know anyone.

And hang out with moping little 15 year old goths? I don't think so...there's a good 80s rock/metal club here and there(No Life Til Leather, Eleven, etc), but not nearly enough, not as much as in Melbourne.
