It definitely doesn't, a priest abandons his faith in order to save his sister, but there's no real emphasis on witchcraft (she's not really a witch either). The religious stuff is relatively neutral and not at all emphasized except in Serpents In Paradise.

Or rather, religion is an important factor, but Serpents In Paradise is the only song that at all actually examines religion.

If you really like Part 1, get part 2.
It's a let down. It's generally slower, more ballad heavy, and not quite as epic. I'd say it's definitely still a solid album though. Definitely don't get The Scarecrow; it's not part of the Avantasia saga and it sucks royally, according to everyone who's heard it.

Serpents in Paradise isn't the only song that examines religion. Sign of the Cross does too, and it's one of the most epic fucking songs on the album.

"The blood of anger and pain,
    Ink of the Old Testament!"

I've given Summoning yet another chance. I've been listening heavily to Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame, and much more closely than I feel I have before.

It's growing on me. I've always appreciated these guys from the first time I heard them, but now I'm beginning to find things I like about the music. At first I think I was a bit turned off by the production quality and the sound they went for.

It doesn't really say anything about religion, though, just some very vague stuff and pointless scriptural references.

All I have is Minas Morgul, but it's awesome. I want next the one with the castle and the moon or w/e, and maybe the latest too.

So today I gave Long Winter's Stare - Tears Of Odin's Fallen another listen and this is really good whatever it is. Probably some form of doom metal.
