I'm guessing you like what you've heard so far, redfly? Have you listened to Time Does Not Heal already?

Not sure if this recent Eric Peterson interview has been posted already in this thread. I think it's a cool one with a glimpse of what's to come in 2014 after the Lamb of God North America tour. Eric ends this interview by stating that their next album will be Testament's destroyer.

I love DROE but I'm hoping the next one will be even heavier and faster.

    Thanks!
I haven't read it yet but that last sentence may be the greatest thing I've ever heard!
Unless he means like KISS' Destroyer lol

Thanks for the link, that was short but entertaining. Great to hear they plan on starting writing in 3 months.

Flotsam And Jetsam is re recording their 1988 epic No Place For Disgrace via Pledge records. They have some cool stuff on there with more to come. And of course part of the money goes to Childrens Miracle.

Personally I can't wait for this. It's one of my all time favorites. And Electra being the really cool label they are won't let the original be re released.

When I got the email from Pledge about this I groaned. I have both Twisted Sister's "Still Hungry" and Testament's "First Strike" and I never listen to them. No matter how bad the production may be, I'll still go back to the original. I'd rather they try to write a proper follow up to "The Cold" as I really didn't like "Ugly Noise."

Well.Mark Simpson wrote The Cold and did all the guitars. He has left and has a regular job now.So there won't be a follow up to The Cold.Mike Gilbert doesn't write anything like him.

I liked First Strike a lot.I also love the originals. That is really the only album where I like both versions.Originally they wanted to just re record the drums and bump up the levels on the rest of it.But Atlantic are cocks it's the same reason Flotsam are re recording No Place..Electra owns the rights but won't do anything with it.The only way for the band to own their music and make any money off it is to do it this way.

I agree With you on being disappointed a lot with this sort of thing. The Megadeth re masters were awful. But the clips I've heard so far from Flotsam are pretty good.If they stick pretty true to the music,I'll be happy.Although I think it will be hard. That album has so many little elements to it like feedback and just tweaks of the instruments and other things I don't know if all of that can be recaptured.
I'm actually looking forward to this album with the edgier way AK sings now. They haven't done a really fast album since he started doing that.I guess the joke will be on me if he goes back to his cleaner style lol

So maybe think of it this way? Pledging is a good way to stick it to the man and give the band a chance.Plus you don't have to get the album. You can get signed posters, your name in the credits and all sorts of stuff.

A teaser for the forthcoming documentary about the mighty CORONER has been released. Should be a good film:

BTW, I've always wondered what Alex Skolnick would make of their music, especially later stuff like "Grin" and "Mental Vortex", had he heard it. I'm sure bands like this deny the opinions about Thrash being a genre with limits that cannot be pushed. Anyway can't wait to see what the director has come up with.

Way to go DA. Quite a progress for these guys, but surely well deserved. With 7th album out and countless tours behind them no one can call them a reunion band anymore.
