Looking for some new bands (old or whatever!) in the genre of technical thrash! (the style of early Metallica (read: lightning, puppets & justice), early Megadeth, Testament in the Skolnick era, Equinox etc.) Anyone that got a tip or recommendation?

Anacrusis! Go to their official homepage and download all their albums/demos and some live stuff.

Start with the first album and hear them progress!

Let me know how you like them. :)

Of those albums already mentioned I can confirm at least 75% (the ones I own myself), but I guess you can rely on the other 25% of the recommendations as well.:)

A few albums I would like to add:
    Sieges Even - "Life Cycle"
    Forbidden - "Forbidden Evil"
Hexenhaus - "A Tribute To Insanity", "The Edge Of Eternity"
Mekong Delta - "The Music Of Erich Zann", "The Principle Of Doubt", "Dances Of Death"
Toxik - "World Circus" (not as technical and "thrashy" as "Think This", but still worth a mention)
    Coroner - "R.I.P."
    Mordred - "Fool´s Game"

And here´s the link to the Anacrusis-website Hawk already mentioned:

@Wicked Child: Wasn´t it "Years Of Decay"?

    Coroner also gets my vote.

    Three others not mentioned:

Wrathchild America - "Climing the Walls" and "3D"
    Powermad - "Absolute Power"
Metal Church - "Blessing in Disguise" (a blend of thrash and American power metal, but that CD is on par with anything Metallica ever wrote in my ears)

Why does nobody mention Sacred Reich, I wonder! Haven't heard their last album but their first two are definitely worthy of your money.

Cool band. They kind of had that Exodus "Bonded By Blood" sound on the first album (VICIOUS ATTACK), the second album (THE ONLY SAFE PLACE) was toned down a little. Both albums were on Combat and both are worth checking out. Been a long time since I've heard them, may have to give them a spin soon. :)

Does that sound right Sayer... comparing them to early Exodus? Like I said, it's been a long time since I've played either album.
