Nice pick! That's my favorite Tad Morose song...and my wife still remembers it and thinks it's hilarious.

This is a ridiculous task, but I'll bite...:)

    10. Judas Priest - Painkiller
    9. Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys
    8. Iced Earth - Burning Times
    7. Megadeth - Holy Wars
    6. Metallica - For Whom The Bell Tolls
    5. Queensryche - Suite Sister Mary (Overall, Operation Mindcrime is the best metal album of all time IMO)
    4. Savatage - Prelude To Madness/HOTMK
    3. Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
    2. Dio - Holy Diver
    1. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

I just can't stray away from the veterans on lists like this! Personally, I think Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath should be at the top spot on everyone's lists. No, it's not my favorite song, but at the time, it had to sound like Hell was unleashed on mankind! LOL

Probably could've filled this entire list with just "pre-Watershed" Opeth songs (and the one Leprous song).

    1. Opeth - Blackwater Park
    2. Leprous - Forced Entry
    3. Opeth - Bleak
    4. Dream Theater - Glass Prison
    5. Agalloch - In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion
    6. ISIS - Weight
    7. Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks
    8. Pain Of Salvation - Beyond The Pale
    9. Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor
    10. Ihsahn - On the Shores

Awesome! I may try to come up with a top 10, but that is the only song that immediately comes to mind that I can say with 100% certainty belongs on my top 10 list.

Nice! I was trying to find a spot for one of theirs, but as much as I love them they got beat out in a top 10 list. Glad someone got one. I almost dropped something for Parasite Blues though.

Don't know if I could pick 10 songs because ultimately, they wouldn't be the best metal songs ever - only my favorite metal songs ever. I won't even bother.

You're trying too hard to be objective. Best songs to you! That's what most of us are doing anyway.

Ooh, I forgot this one. It's the first power metal song I ever heard, and the only reason I checked out my new favorite genre.

I found a top 10 metal bands list I did recently, so to make things easier I picked my favorite song from each of those bands. That means I had to ignore such incredible songs as "Metal Life", "Eden Lies Obscured" or "Seven Days Of Splendour" because those bands didn't release enough material to make my top 10 bands list. However, picking my favorite Queensryche or Blind Guardian song was hard enough!

Blind Guardian - When Sorrow Song
Dio - Rainbow In The Dark
    Helloween - I Want Out
    Iron Maiden - The Trooper
    Judas Priest - Dreamer Deceiver
Lizzy Borden - Rod Of Iron
    Manowar - Kingdom Come
Queensryche - Queen Of The Reich
Savatage - When The Crowds Are Gone
Scorpions - We'll Burn The Sky

The usual disclaimer, impossible list and I could do a hundred of these and come up with different songs but here are 10 I quite like:

Judas Priest - Victim Of Changes
    Rush - Hemispheres
Iron Maiden - Where Eagles Dare
Dokken - When Heaven Comes Down
Black Sabbath - Falling Off The Edge Of The World
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary Of A Madman
    Scorpions - He's A Woman, She's A Man
    Queensryche - Child Of Fire
Michael Schenker - Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
Yngwie Malmsteen - Soldier Without Faith

I don't consider Rush metal, but if I did I would have included Hemispheres.
