Where is the dvd gonna be filmed if say we wanted to go across the pond for the filming?
Thanks for the congrats dude! However, I never ruled it out, just wasn't sure if we could swing it. Well, Barb would have none of that and we are indeed going! I thought I had posted something here, but I think I only posted that on the TPC forum. I'm really stoked to see so many great bands and after all these years of knowing you, I *finally* get to see you play! Add in the tropics and it only gets better!
Eumeria is opening the cruise shows. Tall order- GREAT band to take on the challenge. Having been privy to a sneak peek here n there I know they can do it!!!
Preparty is all set at Transit Lounge in Miami- Cage, Seven Kingdoms and Wicked Waltz- Very excited about that show as well! Should be enhancing the already great time we've got planned~!
The promoter is MORE THAN ok with that and already has ideas working for it!!! : ) Will email you to discuss the possibilities of making this happen!
I would just like to extend a warning to all of you who may have the misfortune of casting your eyes upon my snow-white person: BRING SUNGLASSES. I am going to be sporting a moontan like nobody's busines and I refuse to be held responsible for blinding anyone.
If the cost of the cabin was 700 for the trip, it is possible with three people. Unfortunately, the cost of the cabin is 700 per person, no matter how many people stay in it.
I know this is cruise shit policy. It just sucks. Two or three of us could swing it if the cost of the cabin was really the cost of the cabin.
But, the blind mice are gonna miss this one.
Evergrey and Pagan's are my two favorite groups. Call a waaaambulance
Totally feel that pain. Unlike yer basic hotel room, where you can share and share and share costs until you reach an upper limit of integration (say, 10 people in a room*), cruise ships Don't Work That Way.
Done. For me, too.....
* I think that's the most I've ever tried...at Dragon*Con one busy year
I sport a rockin moontan myself so shades it is!!!
As to the cruise cost and the way the cruise line is- no one sighs a bigger sigh on that one than me. Tried my best and hopefully with a good one this year we can continue to cruise to different places each year with a solid lineup and economy permitting more folks will venture out for it.
The upside to cruising is once you pay- minus excursions, liquor, and souvenirs pretty much everything else is covered. The payment plan and willingness to work different options for folks is there.
I also have a Give the Cruise for the Holidays type discount right now- as of Black Friday (nov 27) it's done though. Automatic $100 off per person. Inspired by the nice lady who gave someone the cruise for his birthday present. Very cool idea. 3 days/3 nights $600 is $200 per day and most hotels cost that much in Miami without floating on over to the Bahamas (I get the share a room thing). Bummed some can't make it but there is plans in the works for 2011.
all hail beth!
Hey, Beth - this might be a stupid question, but what is the situation with smoking on the ship? I have an autoimmune condition that can be aggravated by exposure to second-hand smoke, and I would have a hard time if all the enclosed places on the ship were filled with smoke!
I know it's almost impossible to keep the band members from lighting up in a situation like that...but when that happens, everyone else seems to follow suit.
Adding SHADOW GALLERY to an already loaded roster is making this reaaaaalllly tempting for me!
My wife and I just did the ShipRocked cruise with Queensryche and others a few weeks ago and smoking was very easy to avoid. It was absolutely forbidden in the main theater (as were ALL drinks). Smoking was actually disallowed on most areas of the ship. You should check with Carnival to see what their smoking policy is. This is something that really is not even in Beth's control.
Will do - my concern was that for an event like this, things might end up being more *lax* than the cruise line's normal policy.
Hope y'all had a blast on SHIPROCKED!
Hey, thanks Rick for replying... I'm in the car driving home with my Navyboy son who is on liberty for the next two weeks- YAY! hopefully this note will come thru.
Smoking is pretty strict on cruise lines. The Motley cruise had fairly strict compliance. The line didn't give anyone any breaks and I actually was threatened to be kicked out of the casino for profanity. (Duh! A losing hand will cause my to curse!) Overall, the cruise lines have a pretty steady set of rules for safety reasons and for the comfort of ALL passengers. If I recall (I have been on this exact ship but don't smoke) the policies were for smoking in designated areas only and those areas were all outdoors.
On monday I will look into the exact policy but it is a safe bet it is on carnival.com if you want to look it up sooner.
No rush - enjoy the time you have with your son!!
I will be waiting a few weeks to book anyway to see if I am any closer to finding gainful employment.
what!? Are you serious?
Ha, wow Beth. Well, then I'll probably be kicked out instantly. I got the biggest potty mouth ever. I assume that they don't let children into the casino part, so what's the big deal?
But I am with you Kimberly on the smoking part. I am very sensitive to being in smoky areas but it probably won't be an issue. Most places don't let you smoke anymore in enclosed areas. But I am already onboard!! Never been on a cruise before and this is the way to do it!!!
I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy in terms of allowing other promoters to post a thread here for publicity, updates, etc. However, specific questions regarding rules or anything else need to be posted at that festival's specific forum please.
Glenn- I would absolutely support that statement in saying these specific type discussions on all events outside PP be maintained on those specific forums. I hope you don't think I mean you any disrespect as I am a happy ProgPower attendee.
I am a happy ProgPower attendee (and sponsor), so I certainly didn't mean any disrespect, either. This is actually the only UM forum that I post on, so I didn't think to go elsewhere for an answer. My apologies...
I hope everyone has a blast on this cruise... it's just not $$$ possible for me to swing this trip..
