Yeah, it's funny-- people talk about them like they're totally different bands, but realistically newer JFAC is death metal (not core) and nobody would turn their noses up at Behemoth and Suffocation or Deicide touring together...

The bands images are quite different though, and it seems that has a big effect on the fans a band attracts. So I guess their fanbases are quite different, but the music really isn't that far apart. A good tour combo though as should bring in a few different types of death metal fans.

Definitely interested in checking out this tour. Behemoth are awesome live, and interested in checking out JFAC.

    Evolutionary Touring presents ULCERATE (NZ)

Ulcerate from New Zealand are competitive with the best bands from anywhere. Their music combines the brutal, downtuned riffing of traditional death metal (think Immolation or Morbid Angel) with the dissonance and shifting time signatures of Gorguts and the slow, atmospheric passages reminiscent of Isis.

Ulcerate’s second full-length album “Everything is Fire” further refines and expands their work on 2007’s ‘Of Fracture and Failure’. Punishing, churning dissonance mixed with their trademarked sense of melody and textured rhythm work, coupled with a greater foray into mood and atmosphere. An entirely bleaker effort than anything ever realised by the band, guitar lines swirl and evolve into one another, percussive patterns work in and around the melody lines while the band further develops the linear style of writing they’ve come to be known for. Frantic, desolate and emotive, ‘Everything is Fire’ straddles the divide between pure chaotic density and raw, natural tones, marking a breath of fresh air in the climate of over-produced, stagnant and clinical metal.

‘Everything is Fire’ represents a band with a wholly unified musical and aesthetic direction.

    STRYPER AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Just Say Rock are excited to announce the return of Stryper, who will be bringing their 25th Anniversary Tour to Australia!!! After a quarter century of unprecedented success, the righteous rockers known as Stryper have found a way to keep their high-voltage sonic fire burning. No greater evidence exists than the band's latest studio project and 10th career disc, Murder by Pride.

Without question, Murder by Pride represents a resounding return to form for Stryper. The 12-track album is replete with smoldering dual guitars, euphoric harmonies and sing-along anthems worthy of playing full-volume with windows wide open.
Looking back over the last 25 years, Stryper is considered a groundbreaking act by all accounts. Since the band's label debut in 1984, the quartet has sold more than 8 million albums worldwide. The first Christian rock band to enjoy decided success in the mainstream market, Stryper's RIAA certified platinum 1986 magnum opus To Hell with the Devil is listed among the "100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music" as designated by CCM Magazine. The band's popular power ballad "Honestly" became a Billboard Top 40 hit, peaking at #23.

In conjunction with the latest release, Stryper will be heading to Australia as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. The tour will feature greatest hits performed by all the original band members including: Michael Sweet (lead vocals, rhythm guitar); Robert Sweet (drums); Oz Fox (lead guitar); and Tim Gaines (bass) as well as newer selections with bassist Tracy Ferrie.

One of the most mesmerizing stage acts still today, Stryper received tremendous exposure on television's MTV and VH1, paving the way for more faith-fueled bands to be considered for airplay. So come and celebrate 25 years of Stryper as they head our way in April 2010!!

MESHUGGAH/ IT DIES TODAY/ WHITECHAPEL SIDEWAVES

Meshuggah's dense, polyrhythmic roar elevates tech-metal artisanship to such insane heights; they often build new ceilings just to smash through them.

It is impossible to talk about experimental or avant-garde metal without mentioning this truly groundbreaking act. "ObZen" is their newest offering and one thing is for sure, expect the unexpected. Meshuggah have once again delivered a masterpiece of diversity and surprises and they have reached a non-human level with this one. The result challenges brain and body, but it also dares any other metal band to write a more ferocious album.

However it’s the live arena where Meshuggah has amassed their army of rabid followers; “Meshuggah put on a mind-bending set of crushing, instrumental virtuosity to kick everything off. The Swedish quintet maintained an assault of raw, rhythmic fire” – Artist Direct

Born and bred among the Buffalo, NY hardcore scene It Dies Today released their sophomore album in 2006, ‘Siren’, an album that audaciously makes an obvious effort to defy all expectations of minor disappointment that typically follows a satisfying debut. “Put simply, if you like screams, melodies, crunchy as fuck guitars and a smattering of beat downs, then you need this.” – Metal Hammer

Lividity is the brand new album for It Dies Today so what can we expect… sincerity, passion, and FUCKING POWER! The album's blistering, bombastic approach is apparent from the word go, it's sole intention to rupture the fissure before the soothing suture stitches you back up. “Lividity is one of the best albums of 2009, hands down.” - Killertours

Whitechapel stands out in today’s overcrowded metal scene due in part to their ability to create incredibly evil and dissonant sounds. Seamlessly melding death metal, grind, and hardcore to create a brilliant brand of modern death metal, their debut album, ‘The Somatic Defilement’ systematically crushed those who opened their ears to it and propelled Whitechapel onto the worldwide metal scene. “The band’s dual vocal attack brand of death grind will pummel you senseless, devastating any notion you had of innocence.” – Mouth Of War.net

The crushing triple bill of Meshuggah, It Dies Today and Whitechapel will be performing 2 club shows only!

    SOUNDWORKS TOURING & APPARELDIRECT.COM.AU presents

    NILE
    ABIGAIL WILLIAMS
    HATE ETERNAL

AUSTRALIAN / NEW ZEALAND TOUR MAY 2010
NILE After two years since their last studio album "Ithyphallic", mighty US-American technical death metal masters NILE are finally back with new and exciting material – "Those Whom The Gods Detest" is a landmark release in the field of all things brutal yet technically refined. This album serves up a massive death metal onslaught featuring all the trademarks of the band – relentless brutality, Egyptian mythology, Middle Eastern interludes and incredible guitar duels and will show all youngsters and newcomers just who is the leader of the pack. Nile return to Australia to devastate the hordes of extreme metal fans and deliver us a true death metal knockout blow.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS are nothing short of American black metal’s brave new saviours. With a gloriously grandiose and bombastic symphonic black metal sound that puts the lo-fi fumblings and meagre ambition of their few notable peers to shame, these young servants of the dark side stand proudly apart from the rest of America’s trends. Their latest offering “In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns” is vicious, scything dark metal at its malevolent best; a swarming maelstrom of flesh-flaying riffs, inhuman screams and skull-flattening kick drums, topped with sumptuous orchestration and enough atmosphere and drama to set your brain spinning from the sheer. Abigail Williams rip into Australia for the first time.

HATE ETERNAL Started in 1997 by Erik Rutan of Morbid Angel and Ripping Corpse fame, Hate Eternal quickly became one of the most talked about extreme metal bands on the scene due to the band’s ability to create exceptional albums, tons of touring, and live shows that left fans hungering for more. Fury and Flames, the bands’ fourth studio album, marks the start of a new chapter in Hate Eternal’s already illustrious career. Upon the first spin, listeners will immediately be able to tell that Fury and Flames is the band’s most diverse and heavy chaotic and emotionally fuelled record to date. Five years on Hate Eternal explode back into Australia to remind us all just what this band is capable of.

    DECAPITATED/PSYCROPTIC/ORIGIN/MISERY INDEX
    AUSTRALIAN TOUR

DECAPITATED are back! Bands like DECAPITATED don't come along very often, having created a vicious, precise and innovative form of death metal since their inception in 1996. Soundworks Touring are extremely pleased to announce their first shows back, in Australia and New Zealand, to deliver to us all their distinctive brand of technically flawless death metal.

Wacek “Vogg” Kieltyka, guitarist & founding member of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED, has issued the following statement:

"It’s time to come back! After a two-year break, DECAPITATED is coming back with new members. The official new line-up for DECAPITATED will be announced at the end of December.

“As you all know, the decision to continue the band was really, really hard for me, but everything I do now is to keep DECAPITATED alive. [Vocalist] Covan’s situation has not improved much and he is still in bed and unable to function on his own. He still fights to recover as we speak and we are all still 100% behind him and hope for the best. It has been the hardest thing for me to move on without [brother & drummer] Vitek by my side, but he would have wanted me to continue with the band.

“Finally, I have found some great musicians who can continue the work of Vitek and Covan. At the beginning of April, DECAPITATED will start to play our first reunion shows. We will visit the biggest cities in Australia and play some of the biggest summer festivals in Europe. Don’t worry, we won’t forget about the U.K.! After this, the band will concentrate on the making of a new album! I would like to thank all the people who have supported us all this time."

PSYCROPTIC are technical death metal done the Australian way. Having toured heavily through Europe and the USA over the past 18 months in support of their Nuclear Blast release “Ob(servant)”, PSYCROPTIC perform their first Australian shows in close to a year to remind us all of their clinical, razor sharp delivery of some the most punishing, intricate extreme metal on the planet.

ORIGIN One of the most intense and technical of the contemporary death metal bands, ORIGIN embark on their first pulverising trip to Australia to stake their claim as the leaders of metal’s new wave of extremity and deliver a sonic barrage of inhuman proportions. Prepare your face for battle.

MISERY INDEX sets no limits in their goal of making metal and grind flow together in boundless punishing assaults designed to modernize the classic death and grind metal of the early 90’s. Creating an insane mix of regressive thrashing rhythms, corrupting breakdowns and energetic ferocity MISERY INDEX will make damn sure their first shows in Australia leave a blasting impression.

DECAPITATED with Psycroptic, Origin and Misery Index performing at:

April 1st –Transmission Room, Auckland, Lic/AA
April 2nd – The Esplanade Hotel, Melbourne, 18+

“Metalheads Australia wide will be banging their heads with glee to hear that yes, the rumours are true, the mighty Testament will return to our shores this August.

August 2010 will be Australia’s turn to witness the blistering live spectacle of ‘The Damnation Tour’ featuring Testament with special guests Dreadnaught; so prepare to have your eardrums shattered.

Don’t miss your chance to be decimated by thrash metal monsters, Testament.”

EXODUS AUSTRALIAN / NEW ZEALAND TOUR OCTOBER 2010

“I’m not happy unless I see someone out there in the pit, bleeding and smiling!” Gary Holt

At the beginning of their career, EXODUS gained huge notoriety in the international underground scene as a result of the tape trading community. Their dynamic guitar riffing, adrenaline-inducing drum work, and bloodied live shows made all the difference in the band’s mission to take Bay Area Thrash to a worldwide audience. By 1983, the band line-up included guitarist Rick Hunolt and bassist Rob McKillop and had inspired the likes of Metallica, Testament, Death Angel, and Vio-lence. EXODUS’ debut, the immortal, must-have, undisputed thrash classic Bonded By Blood was released in and a vast tour with Slayer and Venom propelled the band into a household name. Eight albums later, EXODUS still remain at the top of their game, continuing to dominate the charge and showing all in their path what classic metal is about.

DEATH VOMIT, composing of Sofyan Hadi (vocals/lead guitar), Roy Agus (drums), and Oki Haribowo (bass) have existed as a prevailing force within the Indonesian metal scene for quite some time, and since their formation in 1995 they have well and truly made a hefty mark on the Indonesian death metal scene. From the beginning, DEATH VOMIT have proved to be moguls of all that is macabre and have devoted themselves to many a bloodcurdling, annihilating live performance across Indonesia. With their brutal, unyielding assault on the tour circuit, DEATH VOMIT leave nothing to the imagination. Apart from their ferocious approach to live performance, DEATH VOMIT have also succeeded in releasing two diabolically spine-chilling albums. Their first album, 'Eternally Deprecated', was released in November 1999 under their own independent label Demented Mind Records, selling over 1000 copies of the album – a considerable achievement for any small underground Indonesian metal music label at this time. 'Eternal Deprecated' was later re-released under the larger record label Extreme Souls Production, which saw an explosion of album sales and sealed DEATH VOMIT's fate as the most brutally dominating death metal band to ever grace the isles of Indonesia.

On April 15th 2000, the band suffered a massive set back and time of deep sorrow when lead singer Agung passed away. In light of the turmoil and tribulations that now lay ahead, DEATH VOMIT remained true to themselves, and guitarist Sofyan Hadi stepped up to the plate, taking on the role of guitarist and vocalist. For DEATH VOMIT, the tragic, untimely death of Agung was the point of no return, and the band came back fighting with fists of fury, devouring all seeds of doubt with the release of their second album 'The Prophecy' (2006). Despite the considerable time lapse between albums and the turbulent times endured, DEATH VOMIT held firm and remained loyal to their style, displaying nothing but (un)virtuous, arrant death metal. Both 'Eternally Deprecated' and 'The Prophecy' are demonstrative of DEATH VOMIT's sheer musical ferocity and cutthroat savagery, as well as their unfaulting commitment to the grinding, formidable intensity that is death metal.

At the top of their achievements, and a homage to their overwhelmingly fiendish and pulverizing on-stage effulgence, DEATH VOMIT can lay claim to being the first Indonesian metal band to release a live DVD. In June 2008 DEATH VOMIT executed a slaughtering, hatchet job of a performance that was captured on film and release as the DVD entitled 'Flames of Hate', and has been labeled as one of the best live performances in Indonesia to be captured on DVD. The ruthless carnage that is captured on 'Flames of Hate' is reflective of the same rancor that is consistently delivered by DEATH VOMIT both on stage and in the studio.

When pondering the Indonesian death metal scene, DEATH VOMIT, as a band that has indubitably forged themselves as one of the most intense death metal bands in their country, cannot be bypassed. DEATH VOMIT are infallible devotees to the merciless and insubordinate barbarity that is death metal. And just when you thought your brain had been pulverized beyond functionality, then along comes the onslaught of DEATH VOMIT's much anticipated up-coming album, promising to be just as, if not more, savage and tyrannical as ever.
