bum bum bum
where are you taking me?...to a mansion?
or to Manson?
honestly although no KD drummers can hold a candle to Mikkey Dee - this guy on Voodoo was clearly chained to a metronome (I choose to believe not by his choice) but despite that sounds *awesome*. Too restricted but gets such a good sound out of the drums, particularly the snare. New appreciation.
are we talking a normal candle or some evil possessed candle that summons evil spirits
for snowy shaw? normal candle
snowy shaw r0000lz
have you heard Notre Dame?
What happened to Mikkey Dee's excessive cymbal-heavy playing after KD in Motorhead? He was perfect for King Diamond, since the production by Laroque at the time favoured harmonally the multi-layered vocals (naturally) and the drums, leaving a pretty trebbly region for the guitars. The drums had to carry a lot of space in KD at the time, and the next drummers were nowhere near as adept at that sort of thing.
Well yeah but "Them" exists pretty much entirely above 500Hz.
not familiar with notre dame. he's fine and all, but c'mon mikkey dee.
500Hz is probably conservative that is a *trebley* motherfucking record.
I'm listening to Them on mp3 and the encoding has seriously fucked up the high-end playing on the ride. Annoying.
I saw Motorhead opening for Maiden and the second opener was Dio. So Mickey Dee does this awesome drum solo and then the dumbass from Dio has the balls to do one too. What a fucking trainwreck.
On the inside of Candlemass' album 'Nightfall' on the thanks list you can read: "thanks to mickey dee (no danish drummer, sorry!)" or something to that extent. I can only wonder what prime candlemass (well not prime, Epicus was miles better) would sound with that sort of busy playing, especially in open slow tempos.
