Ugh, no. I have been wanting to see Disturbed forever, and would like to see Manson again, but not outside, and not in that heat, no thank you.

Hmmm..... I pretty much fix things. Though my title is "Lead Engineer," I am pretty much a technician at an industry. I may have to do mechanical, electrical (my strongest skill) pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing and welding/fabrication work. It is a fairly rewarding career though, as the machines somehow find new ways to break down. I enjoy the challenge.

As far as my personal life, if you remove the metal tee and long hair, I am pretty much an Alabama redneck. I live on five acres in the country, own a tractor, and always have some sort of broken down automobile or piece of lawn equipment I am working on. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful children, my Son Koji who is four and my daughter, Yumi who is 3 mo.
I like to buy broken things from E-bay and Craigslist and repair them. Unfortunately, I have slowed down on that as I get attatched to machinery and never sell it. For example, I have three riding mowers, but have yet to figure out how I can drive all of them at once.
I am a football fanatic of both college (Roll Tide) and Pro (Go Steelers) and enjoy fantasy football quite a bit too. I have also been playing guitar for about 26 years now, though I don't practice as much as I should. I enjoy building/repairing/upgrading PCs, though mine is always a thrown together piece of crap ha ha ha. I am also a beer-head and like to find new micro-brews, especially the more hoppy ales out there.
I suppose I don't have any major aspirations other than trying to be a good Husband and Father and raising/spoiling my kids the best way I can. I am pretty much a simple man in that aspect. I do enjoy traveling and was able to travel to Japan last year to meet my wife's family. I would love to return to Europe and maybe go see Vanden Plas in Germany and go drink some real Abbey Ale from Belgium etc.

Well let's see.. I've got an Admin job for the IAMAW; love my co-workers, including my boss (most of the time :p )

In my spare time I love to paint, I read ALOT and wish like hell I had more time to read... I'm a bit of a movie nut.. If I find a movie I love, I will watch it over n' over again (nerd moment - I went to the theater n' saw Phantom of the Opera 21 times.. i liked it alot) I also dabble in photography (I need a better camera) and write poetry... I've also written stories for me for YEARS but I'm in the process of researching a story idea that's been in my head for a long time...

    Yes, hail!

My primary outdoor activity today will be rushing from my air-conditioned car to an air-conditioned theater to see the new Harry Potter movie. :)

Same shit, different year for me. I really need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. My day job is with a bank, and I am expecting a pink slip sometime in the next 90 days. Of course, I've been expecting one for a year, and it hasn't happened yet...

I also work part time for Weight Watchers, which I love...but it would be hard to keep the bills paid (not to mention indulging my music/tennis/travel addictions) if that was my only source of income.

I'm thinking about going back to school...ASU has a few interesting Master's programs. Although I'm pretty sure that would get me kicked out of the U of A alumni club.

    Since this thread resurfaced:

Still working from home as a freelance designer (web, graphic/print, multimedia) and composer/audio engineer. Todd and I became first time homeowners just about one year ago, which is part of the reason I've not been on the forum much. We've spent quite a bit of time getting the inside to more closely match *us*, and recently started on the outside. o_O As always, family stuff comes first - little dude is becoming adept at the art of sarcasm, discovering that he can sing (booyah!!) and is showing some pretty impressive reading skills. We are beyond proud of him and I can't put into words how stoked I am to be a stay at home/work at home Mom. :headbang:

In February I helped start the Total Recall 2009 campaign out here in California, which is working on recalling Schwarzenegger. This is my first jaunt into political territory and I am both amazed and disgusted at the same time the more I learn. We helped defeat the insane tax increases up for vote in May. Between work, volunteering and family I don't get much free time or sleep, and my Muse has been laying guilt trips on me. The Pantommind "Lunasense" cd came out earlier this year, in which I appear as a guest vocalist and also do some spoken parts.

Right now I am working on a buttload of website redesigns, including a new layout for the FW dot com (have been trying to get that wrapped up forever, but there are just not enough hours in the day :( ) and trying to find the time to record some new/reworked original material.

Thanks for the congrats and support! I've been trying to do some local booking for indie punk and metal bands around the Baltimore area, but the traveling has made that a bit difficult for now with times at home seeming to few and far between for planning and promoting good shows. Still I try to put together a show occasionally when I can. Touring with The Independents takes up a good portion of my time, but I do really enjoy it.
Nick or I will try to get on here and post more dates as they become available. (We are actually one a small mini-tour right now.) No dates for Pheonix yet, but we will certainly let you know. (Actually Benedictum was talking to Nick at FotV about wanting to hook up together on a show out that way, which would be really cool.)

You can always check dates at The Independents' myspace, which they update frequently:
    www.myspace.com/theindependents

We've got shows coming up in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. If your a fan of punk, I encourage you to come out. Nick and I were fans of the band long before he joined and they are one of the most fun live bands I've ever seen.

I'm late as usual but here we go!

I've worked in the parts dept. for a local Mercedes Benz dealer for over 21 years now. We're consistently one of the top 5 in the northeast for wholesale parts sales year after year. Our phones ring off the hook all day long. I wonder why I'm bald and gray?

For fun I play the drums (was in a few bands back in the 80's), play golf, go to as many concerts as possible and collect CD's (I have over 3000 but I lost count).

I try not to waste it.

Personal interests include writing (blogs, articles, reviews, screenplays, web sites, marketing/advertising/PR), biking, hiking, music (CDs and concerts), Zen, spending loads of time with my wife and "fuzzy son" Bradbury (our soon-to-be-eight Scottish Fold cat), and learning Web design.

    For business, see above. :)

After spending nearly 20 years as a copywriter/Direct Marketing expert in various agencies and businesses -- where I serviced clients such as Philips Medical Systems, Komatsu America, The Dow Chemical Company, First Bank, Six Flags, Siemens Dematic, Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union -- I suffered a few layoffs here in Michigan and finally threw in the corporate towel.

Now I write screenplays, network with Hollywood types, provide marketing consulting for select clients (via PurpleCrayon Direct or, for more corporate clients, Bill Murphy-Wordsmith), teach advertising/marketing at a nearby university, and seek to use my Master's-degree (Communication) education...plus my nearly 20 years as a Direct Marketing specialist...to help labels, bands, and fans find news ways to enjoy music. Naturally, a big thrill for me is interviewing ProgPower USA bands.

I don't know what to do next. Should I pursue full-time screenwriting? Obtain a Ph.D. or MBA? Write books? Open a Zen center? Or do something completely different from anything I've done before?

Stay tuned. I'm a work in progress.

    Bill

I'm a manager at a textbook store serving the U of A. All you college kids... keep the hate to a minimum. By kids, I mean you people the same exact age as me that are just on the other side of the counter.

I also enjoy metal. And rum. Lots of rum. Alestorm is big with people like me.
