what is the reputation thing in the control panel?

    I'm just curious as someone left me a message saying I should "suck on the business end of a shotgun" last March, and I never saw it until now......

    It's a point system thing where people can "approve" or "disapprove" of any comments/posts you make.

    so is 12 points good or bad? can anyone do it, or just mods? how do I get rid of them?

    is this one of those, "so be good for goodness sake or we'll boot you" type deals?

    People start with 10 points, so you are 2 above normal. Basically the reputation thing shows how much people like you and they can give their opinions about your posts every time they want. You can't get rid of them, but you can shut down the reputation option if you want.

    If you don't want to look at it, you can shut it off in your control panel. Display reputation publicly? Or something like that. You can click no....but you might miss a nice comment too. They eventually roll over, the more you get. Sooner or later the shotgun thing will be buried, and you won't see it anyway.

    It's a nice way to tell someone how funny their post is.
