The first (and ONLY the first) 1000 copy pressing of W4: The GREEN Album will come included with a special bonus disc, free (!) in a 2 CD package! This is our incentive to you to pre-order direct from us, and get one of these first limited edition copies (1000) of the 2 CD GREEN Album package. I cannot yet reveal the contents of the 2nd disc, but only say that it is significant and of quality added value to this package, at no extra cost to you, but to acknowledge our thanks for your pre-ordering, and your belief in WOODS OF YPRES! \w/ All art and layout has been done by the great Travis Smith and it has turned out dark, poetic and crushingly beautiful! We are now only weeks away from shipping the pre-orders and the first 1000 will go fast, and be gone! All the envelopes have been addressed as I await the delivery of the first 1000 copies, mid-November, maybe even sooner! Please pre-order direct from the band to take advantage of this deal we offer. Thank you! DG - \w/ As posted on the other thread, here are the pre-ordering details below:
WOODS 4: DRUMS w/ Evan Madden, Day One On drums: Evan Madden (THE GREEN EVENING REQUIEM, WOE). Evan drove 16 hours from Philadelphia to Canada, set up the drums, got our desired sounds and started tracking! Then, he finished six songs on the first day! btw - WOODS 4: The GREEN Album is the first WOODS album to feature a new drummer (I drummed on the first three), and I'm very happy to have Evan involved! His work is complementing the new songs very nicely!
WOODS 4: DRUMS w/ Evan Madden, Day Two Day Two: Evan finished five more songs! Then, with the rest of the late-afternoon available and the Northern Ontario sun blazing like it rarely does, we went to the beach for a few beers and a swim in Lake Superior. Seriously, and it was awesome!
Thanks for all the early support guys! We made the news: http://www.bravewords.com/news/116424 Back in the studio this morning, w/ Evan Madden starting our day with blastbeats @ 190 bpm.
Drums: Day Three. Another long day of work today. Here's a clip: Youtube: Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=101309155671&ref=mf
Thanks for all the early pre-orders guys! Evan finished the last of the drums yesterday, and they rock! He hit the road back to Philly this morning. I'm listening back to the songs now, exciting stuff! The week was a total success and rather stress-free. Let this be the start of only good things to come! I begin tracking my guitars next week. Big, big, slow, crushing guitars. More news soon! Thanks for reading! DG - \w/
Fantastic, love the updates! Also love that the recording process ruled, heard so many horror stories of recording hell and what have you. Will let you know when I fire out my pre-order, which should be soon
WOODS drummer Evan Madden arrived safely back home in Philadelphia after a 16 hour drive from the North. That's an hour of driving for every song on the new album. Listening back to our work, this sure sounds like a concept album. It takes a plunge into heaviness right after the first track, goes down even a little deeper before gradually working it's way out of the slowness. By track 10, we're rocking! By track 12 we're blasting! By tracks 15 and 16, we're reflecting and making sense of it all. Rhythm guitar rehearsing is well underway. Guitar tracking begins next week! More news and photos soon! DG - \w/
'Stu-stu-studio' (Update): We set up, got sounds, then I drank coffee and churned out flap after flap, and stack after stack of thick, wet, doom pancakes all day long. Six songs done, resuming tomorrow. Guitars all week actually. Plus, I sang/screamed my balls off in the car tonight, preparing to record the eventual vocal madness. We're on it! More soon! DG - \w/ (Now, the DOOM metal Joe Satriani)
