Woods will draw decently for Ralph's. Anyone up for some pre-show shenanigans? Higgins Armory is METAL as all get out. Like literally. Metal armor! Metal weaponry! Also good city for beer.
If you do hit Ralph's, my preferred pre-show haunt is The Armsby Abbey on Main St in Worcester. It's 5-7 minutes from the venue, has great locally-sourced food, and a generally amazing selection of beer. Only real problem is they've got 9 tables and are getting some "OMG WORLD CLASS" press from the major craft beer sites so it can be tricky getting a spot. Post show, only place I bother with is the Kenmore Diner on Franklin St. in Worcester. It's basic moderately priced diner-fare served quickly all night long by generally friendly waitstaff. You could go to Denny's a smidge up the highwayfor the previously-frozen version of the same menu. Personally, I got a bit turned off that place after a guy got beaten to death there a few years back. Whatever you opt for, bear in mind that Worcester is a college town and many folks in that age bracket take "everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's day" to mean "why should Seamus be the only one getting blackout drunk? WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
Seconded. A bunch of the Metal Thursday regulars (myself included) go over there after the show every week, and the waitstaff loves us.
