Altough I don't love his voice, I think there's much worse around about thrash metal singers.

Heaven forbid I don't blindly worship someone for being on a legendary album, despite his obvious lack of vocal ability.

Except, you know, his performance on that album is actually one of the finest in all of thrash metal. His lack of technical vocal ability is irrelevant, as it isn't needed to convey the pure aggression that most thrash is predicated upon.

Yeah. Baloff's performance is exactly what makes Bonded By Blood so fucking great.

To all the fags that don't like it:

This new trend of rerecording old classics is a pitiful one indeed. These classics are not just pieces of music, they are time-capsules, brimming with nostalgia and hindsight. They are, in effect, portraits of their own little eras, and listening to them while imagining their proper contexts is a big part of what makes them so incredible. Now all these old bands, bitter and angry at their own talents having withered away, are pretty much raping this entire concept up the arse, making a mockery of themselves and their own art in the process.

    Boycott, I say!

Exactly! I'll take passion over talent any day. I'm sure this record will sound great with their down tuned guitars and electronic drum kit

It kicked ass for about 3 times through, then I realized all the songs needed to be reduced by about a third.

Raze is one of the best songs the band has done though

Anyone hear the new Exodus The Atrocity Exhibit A? Well the last track number 9 I think, has some weird ass banjo playing country crap at like 9:00 or something. Is this them playing drunk or some other band? I didn't see any credits for a band on the album.

It's them alright. Tom's doing the vocals on that song.

Except, I don't hear any aggression either. Just mindless shrieks engulfed in voice-cracks.

    You are not.

    I haven't heard a re-recording yet that I've enjoyed. Bad idea indeed.

Part of the magic of that album is the sound. They may find a pile of weak songs on it when they try to polish it all up.

Baloff is what made Bonded By Blood so good, I don't have high hopes for the re-recording.
