I'll probably be called a fairie for this , but I really like Blackmores Night , Lorreena McKennit ( Mask And The Mirror album is genius ) , Clannad ( soulfull music ) , wimpy AOR with killer choruses and Abba , not that I have Abba on disc , but whenever I hear them on the radio I turn it up , the songwriting team of Benny and Bjorn is stellar , great songs and memorable hooks
I love goth rock like Fields Of The Nephilim, The Sisters Of Mercy, The Mission, The Cruxshadows. Over the past year I have been really exploring the world of gothic rock, industrial, darkwave, synthpop etc etc. I am really a big fan. I can't say I am really embarrased by any artist that I like. But a few would probably suprise some more than anything. A lot of people think I am just a narrow minded metal head, but I have a very eclectic taste. Savage Gardens self titled debut is a pop masterpiece. One of the greatest albums in Australian history. I have got Coheed and Cambria's last album and I really like some of it and then some of it just does nothing for me. Air are one duo (?) I really want to investigate furthur. They did The Virgin Suicides score didn't they? Sigur Ros are one band that I expected a lot from and I was left rather disappointed.
yeah they did the virgin suicides soundtrack... however their album MOON SAFARI is their greatest in my opinion. so cruisey... nice to chill out to. woah woah woah i love these dudes.. i saw them when they played at the metro earlier this year.. was one of the best shows ever. very intense, however somewhat impersonal, as they dont really speak english. i think the singer said "thanks" once and that was the only talking he did. i enjoyed their support that night "AMINA" better. they are the 4 girls that play strings etc in sigur ros.. but they also do their own stuff. it was great... they played glockenspiels and music boxes etc. was quite an experience

The Butterfly Effect are one of my fave bands. I'm not afraid to admit it, but their Begins Here album is in my top 5 of all time. They are awesome!!

That is SO not something anybody should be embarassed about! The Butterfly effect are an incredible band and one of my favourites. I must have seen them live 6 or 7 times over the past few years and they just continue to improve live and are now one of my fav live bands period. Both of their albums... just brilliance. Their new album is possibly my fav of 2006. Clint is also one of my fav vocalists. Such great emotion and expression in his voice..

She's the japanese equivalent of Britney Spears, but i love her voice. She also did numerous Eurobeat albums (as in Dance Dance Revolution-esque music) and they are pretty amazing. And this coming from someone who spits on pop and dance music.
Vision Thing is fucking AWESOME, I have it on Vinyl . Just really kickarse rock and roll, when you think about it, with a gothic spin. There's a name you don't hear very often...I remember these guys having a couple of hits in the early 90s?? I'm not ashamed to say that I've seen Nickelback live and they were to this day one of the better concerts I've been to. This was around about the time that How You Remind Me came out, and it hadn't yet been played to death by radio, and they fucking nailed it - so many people were singing along with it that it was like the air itself was chanting. One other thing that surprised me was that live, Chad Kroeger shredded like fuck!!! Far, far more so than what you hear on their albums. I remember thinking to myself how it was such a shame the way they were marketing themselves, and if they weren't afraid to publicise Kroeger's talent then he could easily be the first mainstream rock guitar god for years. Although, since that wonderful concert, my opinion of Nickelback has basically reversed. Photograph is alright, but other than that they've produced nothing but increasingly emo shite for the last year odd. They've degenerated into a dribbling monotonous top-40 factory, petrified to break from a stale formula for fear of losing a steady, predictable cashflow from payola'd radio tithes that gets fed into their bank accounts like thorazine through an IV drip. Such a shame considering what could have been - one listen to Never Again or similar convinces me of that.
