Shit, I don't think I've heard ten albums this year, and if I have, alot of them were really disappointing. I'll just list the few that I liked, in no order.

    Machine Head - The Blackening
The Ziggurat - Confrontations With The Disciples Of The Shadow Walker
    Svartsot - Ravnenes Saga
    Marduk - Rom 5:12
King Diamond - Give Me Your Soul... Please
    Dethklok - The Dethalbum
Buckethead - Decoding The Tomb Of Bansheebot

Thats all I can think of really, the Nile album was a massive disappointment.

The main reason I was disappointed (though I'm sure I could use a better word) with Dimmu's new CD is because it is EXACTLY what I expected it to be. No surprises, nothing new (other then quad-kicks in "The Chosen Legacy"). The album wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. That is my opinion, anyways.

And apparently Agalloch is releasing a new EP called "the White" to follow up on their 2004 CD "The Grey".

Quoted from Wikipedia, but referenced through many articles on google:

I wasn't too impressed with the new Dimmu album, except for the few times Vortex was on vocals.

Just might be his best and most powerful studio performance yet.

Edit: vvvv - I prefer ever older Borknagar with Garm.

Aside from Kings of the Carnival Creation, I agree completely. I miss old Borknagar, especially songs like "The Presence Is Ominous". Not that I mind new Borknagar with Andreas, but if I wanted to listen to Andreas, I'd listen to Vintersorg. ICS has incredible fucking talents that aren't being focused on enough.

But I shall stop hijacking the thread. On with your top 10's!

The best part of end-of-year lists is finding new music!

Psht. There are two types of people; those who like Kronos, and idiots. And I guess people who don't like death metal but, meh.
