Mastodon and Isis need more listens. I haven't really been in the mood for either but I feel like they could be top 10s and of course I need to know before finalizing my list. Katatonia right now is probably #3.
arjen lucassen guilt machine- on this perfect day katatonia night is the new day dream theater Black Clouds & Silver Linings redemption snowfall on the judgement day o.s.i blood long distance calling avoid the light not a particular order
Gazpacho: Tick Tock (absolute winner, progrock) Riverside: ADHD (prog, imo it's 10/10) Sylvan: Force of Gravity (prog rock) Rammstein: Liebe is für.. (my expectations was low after Pussy) Katatonia Devin Townsend: Ki (didn't like Accident) Dredg: pariah.. Lacuna Coil Senser: How To Do Battle (rapcore) Jääportit: Voimasuo (psychoambient metal) (not in order) non-metal from 2009: Crystal Method, Editors, Yello, VAST, Simple Minds, Muse
ADHD is hands down their worst release, but STILL its a very solid album if you can get past the extensive experimintation and long passages of intrumental filler (thats what they feel like on this album imo)
AHD gets rave reviews on progarchives.com. I don't get it... I'm listening to this beautiful slow doom band Ahab from Germany. Divinity of oceans the album is called. Some of you should like it. Just introduced myself to them today... Top 10 material. Katatonia is creeping up my list. They're up to 3rd place. The album just gets better with each listen!
