    Poll: Best Redemption Album?

Origins of Ruin edged out Snowfall for me. Snowfall has some of their best songs ever, but it has more filler than Origins. The new disc is making a strong push for consideration.

NEAL MORSE BAND: The Similitude Of A Dream

I agree. There are a few clunky lyrics, but this is one great release. Concept double album scorecard: Portnoy 1, DT 0.

NEAL MORSE BAND: The Similitude Of A Dream

The early reviews of this release seem to confirm that Portnoy wasn't just blowing smoke when he said this is the best album he's ever been part of.

    AMARANTHE: Maximalism

We don't often get ear candy at PP. It's a fun change of pace every now and then. A half week full of Green Carnation, Ihsahn or Primordial would be overwhelming. Amaranthe is good at what they do, they're entertaining, and they're part of our family. I'll be there for their set with a...

NEAL MORSE BAND: The Similitude Of A Dream

I can certainly appreciate your point of view regarding his preaching. That said, The Grand Experiment doesn't reference religion at all. It's worth a listen.

    JON OLIVA update

I hope Jon recovers quickly and fully. Watching JOP perform Streets was truly a magical moment. I'd love for him to be able to provide us with moments like that for years to come.

The New Roses - Bluesy Southern Hard Rock...from Germany

I've been really digging this disc. It's a sweaty, whiskey drenched bluesy romp.

Would anyone care to see a Spock's Beard reunion and Mike Portnoy with Neal Morse?

I'm hopeful Neal makes the trip down from Nashville.

    Top 50 Albums of 2015

I look forward to this thread every year. Glenn, and the other members here, point me towards some great music that I've missed. I'd like to mention one disc I haven't seen receive any love from this board: Neal Morse's The Grand Experiment. The 25 minute closing track, Alive Again, is my...

Which band are you most eager to see in 2016?

I went to high school with Dave Anderson. Brother Cane still plays the occasional show, but most of his time is spent on Atlanta Rhythm Section, Black Jacket Symphony and solo shows.

    Urban breed

I've been giving Serious Black in depth spins over the last several days. I wasn't familiar with much of his work until I listened to Project Arcadia earlier this year. I enjoyed his voice on that disc, but after listening to SB, all I can say is "damn, that guy can sing". I'm looking forward...

I'm really thrilled for Glenn, Jen and all of us fans of PP.

    Falconer? How was performance ?

I had the chance to talk with Stefan, Jimmy and Mathias in the courtyard. Jimmy and Stefan teared up when asked about the crowd response and Mathias beamed like a new father. I'm glad our family made them feel so welcomed and appreciated.

Anubis Gate cancel ProgPower USA XVI Appearance

I've been hoping for Hourglass for a few years now. I encouraged Brick to contact Glenn, but I don't know if he ever followed through. I do know that one of their members started law school a few years back, so I don't know if they're still active.

    I'd prefer the thinner shirts.

    KAMELOT N.A. Tour 2015

There was moshing during both Dragonforce and Kamelot's sets in Birmingham tonight. No one seemed bent out of shape over it. Perhaps Kamelot was surprised to have such a good turnout; there were easily 600 in the venue. I was proud to see such a big crowd. I had several people ask me about my...
