When they first put the album on BC the whole thing was unlocked for listening, and for a while it was all in my cache so I've listened to it all a couple times. Heavier than Gold, but otherwise continuing their trajectory. Really solid stuff.

I've got a research queue to churn through. Bandcamp losing half of their staff in the sale is horrendous garbage, though, and everything now is even worse feels than when I was giving money to a company under Epic's umbrella. We can't keep nice things, man.

I refuse to. I won't support artists that can't be fucked to pay for the art assets they're selling. If you don't wanna pay, make that shit in paint, buddy. The album cover obviously is. Those hands don't work and the one arm has no elbow. The music video is all generated bullshit, too.

"Former Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini" feels pretty bad considering his renown before he was in DT. I know why it's there, but...ugh.

That's as good a reason to pause work on an album as I've ever heard. Also exciting to have new Savatage to look forward to.

Day 2 is just reaching out for my wallet tbh. I would love to see Scar Symmetry again, especially at the fest. Also Pagan's Mind probably makes the whole trip worth it on their own. I love those dudes.

Hadn't thought about these folks in years. Quality's still there. I gotta check out more of them.

Eurovision finalists Voyager! woo

These folks have been cooking this album for nearly a decade and it's finally out. It's a jazz and djent influenced modern prog metal album with a lot of nice stuff going on. They've got a pretty unique sound and feel I think.

The new Aeternam is out slightly early and holy shit it's beastly. If you've ever liked Orphaned Land then definitely check them out. Epic Middle East-inspired progressive melodeath (I think that's the most applicable genre salad I can apply here).
