I'm sure that my first metal thing was an OST from an Spanish film called "El dia de la Bestia" ("The Day of the Beast", Have you seen it?) with some Spanish bands and some others like Pantera and Ministry.
Later my first death metal act was Vile from Cannibal Corpse...
Of course he knows, I think it may be some kind of tribute to them.
Talking about 70's band, does anyone know anything about the Black Water Park Band?
I haven't listened to Extol but I have a question for all of you who say that it doesn't mind the lyrics because you can't understand.
As a vocalist myself I admit that none in my band can understand a shit of what I'm singing, but the lyrics help me to put out all the energy inside of me...
Yes I know that generally Opeth is influenced by Camel, but Akerfeld just copied the intro from that Camel song and put it on Benighted. I like it everyway.
Before listening to Camel, I read about their influence. I though how a 70's rock band could influence Opeth but afterwards I think...
Yesterday I downloaded some Camel albums (holy Dalnet) and
listening this song, "Never Let Go" from the album called "Camel",
I realized that the begining reminds me some Opeth song.
I don't know wich one ;)
I could be wrong, it could be a personal impression...
so I ask...
I poor bastard and I download most of the music I listen (Cable rlz, ) and the last albums I got are :
Vader - Revelation (I've listen it once and it doesn't seems to be as good as Litany, at least for me)
Killswitch Engage - Never heard of them so I downloaded the last album...
Do you want a cover or a an identical copy to the Opeth one?
I think any good band could do an Opeth cover as long as they do it at his own style.
Think about this. Do your favourite cover songs have anything in common with the original? :spin:
Mine it's "Murders in the Rue Morgue"...
I think in Sleepy Hollow will feet very well an Opeth soundtrack. 18th or 19th century, dark, gothic...
Another film with that dark and dirty photography, which demands some Opeth songs, is Vidoq. With DePardie.
What are we talking about?
I think each one of us has an own meaning of "heavy"
But I think de most heavy ever, on my own meaning, is Cryptopsy - ...And Then You'll beg
