Yeah I know, but after the the first couple pages, all the posts weren't exactly on topic, and some were just throwing out names, so I figured what the heck.
I'm just shocked that it took 47 posts - unless I missed something between all the mudslinging? - to mention Tad Morose. That was the first band I thought of when I read the first post. And I avoided that band for about two years just because of the name. As soon as they were announced for PPUSA I had to go check them out. And then I wished I had two years earlier.
oh and I agree that EDGUY is a stupid name for a metal band. Another one I avoided for years for the same reason as Tad Morose.
These days I tend to be a 'tad' more open-minded about band names. And yes, pun fully intended.
Good point here...reminds me of how...back in the day...I never gave Killer Dwarfs any kind of attention due to their goofy name...always figured them for some kind of Canadian hardcore Gwar-clone or something...little did I know what punky melodic rock gold they were slinging!
Just goes to show, you can't judge a book by it's cover...or it's shitty name!
Ya know...we should really start a "Great album, shitty cover" thread now!
