What a FAN-TAST-STING weekend that was!!!
Paula and I headed to Gibson Universal to meet up with everyone. We got there about 3pm and had some lunch at the Saddle Ranch with KristiC, Kathleen and Annie. HUGE KUDOS to Scorpions, Azoff's, Desiree and Paula for the sound check and meet and greet! Still floating on cloud 9 from meeting the guys! We had little time to chat so a quick hello, I gave them each handmade cards and some trinkets, got them all to sign my GOT SCORPS? shirt (allready have room on the wall for it ;-) and Pabla my ever fabulous partner in crime was kind enough to take pictures of me at the signing!!
When the guys opened with HR1 holy smokes it was on and the guys were on fire!!! The whole night all over the stage,making the crowd go crazy!! I think it was very close to a sell out show! They were doing their infamous kodak moment poses the whole show and I have damn near every one of them!!! OMG what a phenomenal night, start to finish, the energy of the crowd, the band they loved it! Absoultely played their hearts out!! They had you're ass from the first note and didn't give it back for 2 1/2 hours!!! The set list was the same for L.A. and Indio with the exception they didn't play "When the smoke is going down" at Fantasy Springs. Here it is:

The highlights of the set list for me were DYNAMITE, Humanity, Tease me Please Me, Still loving you and the Smoke is going down! I loved the whole mix, fantastic!! If anyone see's youtube videos, let me know!!!!
After the show we took off to go to the hilton to do the swag bag exchange. THANK YOU SO SO VERY MUCH KRISTI C, KATHLEEN AND ALL THE OTHER LITTLE STINGERS! We were all talking and tossing our goodies in the bags and just grinning ear to ear swapping stories. We took off from the hotel soon to put all the goodies in the truck before going back into the show. Once in hit up the merch booth, I picked up a tour shirt, scarf and wristband, then off to get beverages. mmmmm wine ;-)
I was in Orch 4 AA, Pabla was in Orch 7 DD, Paula in Orch 3 BB, Annie in Orch 8 GG and Dion and his crew scattered in the pit. I so look forward to seeing everyone's pictures, especially of the group shots, I figured someone will share. (of course, it's the way of the F>O>S !! \m/ \m/
Woke up relatively early Sunday and since doors opened at 5pm we wanted to be on the road and there in enough time to shower and change. We got to Indio about 1pm, freshened up a bit then off the meet the gang at Fantasy springs resort.
I parked my truck over by the stage entrance in hopes the guys would see the truck all SCORP'D out and to maybe see them after the show. I know shame shame on me...but......*insert music here...... I can't get enough!!!
We played a lot of phone tag with each other trying to get together. I spent about an hour trying to find someplace to eat.... imagine that you are in a casino who's buffet doesn't open until 6pm and if you wanted a room that weekend you had to stay 2 nights ?!?!? WTH? Anyway.. found a pizza place, got a large to go back to the bar and so it begins. Now that I've eaten I feel I can now do some drinkin'! I went out to my truck to have a smirnoff, kickin back crankin' Humanity HR1, AC is going 'cuz it was 113 out there. A short while later a tour bus pulls in and I see Pawel in the backseat, wave ;-) A few people were standing by the back entrance and when the guys came off the bus they chatted a bit, took a few pictures, Dion,Paula, Rudi and some others made it in time and got a pic of the FOS flag with Rudolf holding it! whoo hoo it came out awesome!! I just stayed leaning against my truck looking desert coool in my cowboy hat waving hello to them. Fortunately I still had some voice left and could give my shout outs and got a couple waves back. *insert cheesy grin here
My seat in Indio was section C row 4, right stage under Matthias. When the show hit I moved to row 3 seat 2 closer to center and OMG so effin close I think I died and went to rocknroll heaven!!! Another crankin' set list!! I was jumping up and down so much, flashing my sign I brought and having an all out total blast with my row! It made me soo happy to have the guys point to the sign again and recognize me. AHHHHH just pure pleasure!!!
I was taking bursts of pictures, rockin out, jumping, more pictures when I'm centering on Pawel and he nodded, getting ready to toss a pick at me, I got the picture and tried to catch but I couldn't find it, thankfully someone did and gave it to me. I missed a few drumstix but all is not lost... the merch booth was selling them in Indio so I had to have a pair!! During Tease Me Please Me Klaus came to our side and I was nonstop blowing kisses to him, I swear I felt 15 all over again when he blew one back...oooohhh he melts me! I got some amazing pictures both nights (thanks to my new trusty I love this camera! camera! lol I hope you enjoy them!!
Shouts out to Pabla, Paula, Dion,Wolf, Rose, Kristi C, Kathleen, Dee, Michael, Annie, Rudi Ray, Chip, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Big Mike, Steve-o, Bob, Kim, Joe, and the security at Fantasy Springs Casino for not kicking us out while we took pictures! and then some LOL (wolf tsk tsk tsk *wink) If I left anyone out, it's not intential just lack of sleep and SCORPIONS on the brain!!!!!!
