Speaker Cabinet Question

Hey guys. So I have an old Crate Vintage Club 20 1x10 combo and I am going to be getting an Avatar 1x12 external V30 cab to run it into. I want to put my Avatar cab in the basement and keep the amp upstairs but I want to unhook the internal 10in speaker so I can hear my tones through my monitors. I would like to know if it is ok to run the Avatar cab off the external speaker jack and unhook the internal speaker or would I have to somehow wire up the Avatar cab to the wiring of the internal speaker?

I have a Peavey Bandit 112 combo, and when i received my ENGL 212V cab, i used the "speaker out" or something on the combo to connect the ENGL cab, and i just pulled the plug of the internal speaker in the combo. It's just a plug you have to pull on this amp, very simple.

Maybe it's the same on your amp.
