After the solid amount of tours and local gigs performed by the boys last year, I thought it might be cool to share some of the great times.

My greatest Eyefear gigs were last year's Evergrey support show in Sydney, where IMO, Eyefear smoked Evergrey on stage. Big call? You bet, Evergrey are one of my favourite bands haha. That show was just absolute magic for me. The new songs made a grand appearance and I wanted the album so bad by that point.

Also, the gig with Voyager and Anarion at the Central club. What could be better than a bunch of Vodka, Voyager and Eyefear in one evening? Not alot, I recon. Some people might not have liked me that night, especially those close enough to hear me *trying* to sing like Danny haha.

Hey all,

would definately agree with you about the evergrey support we did here in Melbourne (not to say Sydney was bad) but in Melbourne that night everything came together really well, good stage sound, good crowd, good crew, the lot. We honestly thought we would play like shit at the everygrey supports because we just got back from San Francisco 3 or 4 days before, we were absolutely knackered! I think we were so tired that we just threw caution to the wind and said F$#K it! Lets just play and have fun, who cares if we screw up! With that in mind the stress was gone and we played well.It was nice to come home after a week and a half of rushing about and finish up here, we were all looking forward to playing at home that night.

Daniel: I could hear ya singing! hehe, wasnt that bad!

Robotman: are you the same guy who yells hairs jokes out between songs?!

cheers guys,

SammyG

Hmmm! So many great shows.

The one that stands out the most for me would be the recent Nightwish show. Not so much for the crowd or the venue, but for the bands sound. That had to be the best sound I've ever heard in my life...the mix was set beautifully.

I do have some videos of Eyefear from that night in Melbourne, not bad quality either...but Youtube wont let me upload it. I'll have to uploaded them another way.

Another great show would be the World Full Of Grey launch at the Espy, great crowd, excellent lighting and just an amazing show all round. I have another great video of that night aswell, but same problem...to bloody big. lol!

Here are my 2 experiences -

1. w/ Evergrey at the Gaelic Theatre in Sydney, May 2007 -

Awesome night, never seen or heard Eyefear at that stage, so I didn't know what to expect, following an awesome set from Transcending Mortality, Eyefear came on the stage and blew me away, definately found another favourite Australian band!

Then Evergrey hit the stage, and well, that is a story in itself! :D

Running into the EF guys at a local McDonalds after the gig, another story as well! :D

2 w/ Voyager - Bar Broadway (RIP) - November 2008

Walking into the gig, running straight into Con, catching up and starting an awesome night, can't remember heaps about the openers, they were damn good though.

Voyager came on and blew my mind, waiting to see them for quite a while, one of the best Aussie metal bands along with Eyefear!

Eyefear came on and were absolutely amazing, watching from the side of the stage, and then at the end of their set, I ripped out a "solo" (if that's what it was called )

Then hanging out with both bands after the gig, what a night!

Bring on Round 3 this year!

Yeah the bar broadway gig was great, we had a ball, all the bands were amazing, and great guys too.

I've only got one!

BARfest in San Francisco last year!

Eyefear exceeded my expectations big time. Their performance that night was special and I'll never forget seeing Danny and D.C. Cooper singer together on stage, very cool experience. And we had a blast hangin' out a bit with the band... Sammy, Danny and Con were especially cool kats!

I look forward to the day when they get there arses back over here!!

The best Eyefear gig for me was the Hi Fi with Evergrey, Evergrey has long been a fav band of mine and catching both Eyefear and Evergrey was awsome, the stage work from Eyefear was awesome.....unfortunately didnt catch all of Evergrey :( , would be great to see that line up again one day

The Eyfear, Voyager Anarion gig last year was awesome! Probably one of if not the best local gig i've seen.

Outside of that, i've seen Eyefear supporting Blind Guardian and Nightwish, both times they played very solid sets.

Unfortunetly for the nightwish one, the all seated venue left the atmosphere a little lacking, but i can't wait to see the band again regardless!

True, playing an all seated venue is a little strange, feels like an audition or something! However people nodding their heads up and down helped! hehe
Kinda felt like we were trapped behind a cinema screen at times!

I've seen 4 shows so far.

First Blind Guadian gig in Melbourne, I had never heard you guys before. I was very impressed and instantly loved the music. Second Night BG also awesome.

Third, the Eyefear gig in Brisbane. I was at the front for that, great fun.

Forth was Nightwish in Melbourne. The seats sucked, no one moved in the audience. I missed like 3 songs. Apart from that Eyefear was great on stage once again.

I can't wait to see them for a fifth time.
