  1. Tyranny of Souls

Speaking of shitty taste, it's time to honor my Cradle of Filth fanboyhood:
  1. Midian
  2. Bitter Suites to Succubi
  3. Nymphetamine
  4. Dusk... and Her Embrace
  5. Cruelty and the Beast
  6. The Principle of Evil Made Flesh
  7. Hammer of the Witches
  8. Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay
  9. V Empire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein
  10. Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder
  11. Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa
  12. From the Cradle to Enslave
  13. The Manticore and Other Horrors
  14. Damnation and a Day
  15. Thornography
Funny to think back on forum posts I read 10+ years ago calling them a gateway band. I rediscovered them 3-4 years ago, and have played the shit out of them since getting over their over-the-topness. In many ways they epitomize "gothic extreme metal", and they're one of few metal bands whose lyrics are worth a read. I only really dislike the bottom 3 albums on the list. Top 4 are masterpieces.

I love how Bitter Suits is your number 2. I really liked that EP. "All Hope in Eclipse" is a great song. Most of their later discography I haven't heard, Hammer being the odd exception.

Dusk... and Her Embrace
Midian
The Principle of Evil Made Flesh
V Empire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein
Damnation and a Day

only just saw this but.... are you saying skunkworks is maidenesque?! i'm actually in the minority that likes and defends skunkworks, but it's barely a metal album and isn't remotely like maiden lol

this is why we need to do bruce discog rankings. i'm sure the consensus would be a chemical, accident and tyranny top 3 which i'd probably agree with tbh. TCW is definitely the best.

3. Waitin' for the Night
4. Live in Japan
5. And Now... The Runaways

...chronological other than the live album. RYM counts Young and Fast as being by the same band, but hearing that thing offends every organ in my body.

Plasmatics / Wendy O. Williams
1. Coup d'état
2. Metal Priestess
3. New Hope for the Wretched
4. Beyond the Valley of 1984
5. WOW
6. Maggots: The Record

Headless Chickens
1. Body Blow (the 1993 version)
2. Greedy
3. Stunt Clown
4. Headless Chickens
5. Body Blow (the 1991 version)

Doesn't get weirder than a band replacing 2 songs on an album with 4 new ones and changing it from a 3/5 to a 5/5 for me. They could've just started the next album 'n' shit...

Eg. here's my ranking of Budgie:

1. Never Turn Your Back on a Friend
2. Budgie
3. In for the Kill!
4. Bandolier
5. Squawk
6. If Swallowed, Do Not Induce Vomiting
7. Power Supply
8. Impeckable
9. Nightflight
10. If I Were Brittania I'd Waive the Rules
11. Deliver Us From Evil
12. You're All Living in Cuckooland
Moved Squawk up a spot here and acknowledged Power Supply & the If Swallowed... EP tracks as originally being separate releases.

He's got more Greatest Hits albums than he has actual albums I think!

He's a great story teller which comes from days of playing and talking to the audience between each song.

8. Solitude in Madness
9. The Empire
10. Welcome to the Morbid Reich
11. Impressions in Blood

A band that doesn't have quite enough variety/atmosphere for me, so not reaching the highs of Ulcerate or doomy shit. So, consistent as fuck in other words.
