Bands like SWANS?

hi, I dont quite know if SWANS is really a metal band... but i dont quite know what to categorize it as. If anybody has heard of them can you give me some other bands that sound like them?

-Slower tempos
-Heavy percussion driven music
-Vocals are are slow, in the backround
-Lyrics are metaphoricle and strange
-Angry theme

I haven't really encountered bands like Swans, but I know there are quite a few fans here.

Early Godflesh was heavily influenced by Swans, check out the self-titled EP and Streetcleaner.

I've always checked these guys out when someone mentions them and always enjoyed what I heard, but I have yet to really get into anything.

Cult of Luna have the slow doomy grungeness and building chaos that Swans do, but the vocals aren't really the same. It is huge though. And you can get their whole catalogue on Emusic.
I think it ticks all the boxes though...
