I think 'The Odyssey' has the best cover that i've seen in a long time, but out of that list, i'd go with "Snow."

Blind Guardian's Imaginations From The Other Side IMO. Not just the cover alone, but the two parts of it. Never before has an album cover fitted the music so well for me. Into The Electric Castle (Ayreon) is great too in that respect, as is Star One.

Hmm...

- Sepultura had some serious artwork in their album covers - Arise, Chaos A.D, Roots.

- Dio also had interesting stuff some long time ago - Holy Diver, Last In Line, Dream Evil.

- Iron Maiden's covers are not that brilliant, but I think their devotion to the Eddie theme deserves a medal.

- Metallica had fairly good ideas on Kill 'em All (not to mention the original Metal up you ass concept! ), Master of Puppets, ...and Justice for All.

- Megadeth makes a statement with Youthanasia and Countdown to Extinction.

- Pantera: Vulgar Display of Power, Far Beyond Driven.


I think vinyl covers were better than CD covers.
