It has been nearly three years since the release of North Carolinas traditional metallers Dogbanes debut Residual Alcatraz through Heaven and Hell Records. Since the band has ushered on through a series of misfortune starting with the passing of guitarist and founding member David Ellenburg back in July of 2012. A short hiatus would follow until finding replacement in 2013, new guitarist Jeff Rinehart.
During the bands hiatus they recorded the track Charisma with guest vocalist Scott Board (Cerebus, No Love Lost) and guitarist Warren Dethridge (Steelwolf) to be included on a upcoming "Rock n Roll All Nite: A Millennium Tribute To Kiss" now scheduled for release in December 2014 through Versailles Records.
"Being a huge Kiss fan to be asked to be a part of this album was something any Kiss fan in a band would kill for. But to also be able to share vocals with one of my favorite vocalist Scott Board former Cerebus and current No Love Lost vocalist was the best. Throughout 2013 the band continued performing live and featured on the sold out annual Chicago metal festival Ragnarokkr in 2014 alongside Grim Reaper, Riot, Picture, and label mates Dark Design and Witches Mark.
"We were honored to play Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse. So many great bands, what an amazing festival it was. We got to share the stage with some of our heroes like Riot and Trouble, well now The Skull. Total props to Odin, Bob Byrne and all at Ragnarrokr for a great time and lasting memories." - Jerry Cloer (Dogbane drummer)
Set for an early 2015 release is Dogbanes sophomoric effort When Karma Comes Calling. Recorded and produced by the bands bassist Kevin Davis at Studio 5, mixed by Gary Hawkins, and mastering by Gary Long (King Diamond, Solitude Aeturnus) at Nomad Studios in Texas. Artwork again provided by Wayne Miller.
