Im not sure if this has been discussed before but when it comes to editing drums how precise do they need to be edited?

Im currently in the process of recording my band and i could slip edit every beat to complete perfection no problem but is there really a need to be this precise and what is the margin of error that would be acceptable?

Our drummer generally prefers things to be slightly organic rather than as if the drums were played by a robot.

Cheers

Yea there is no rule that says they have to be edited 100% to the grid, you can do whatever you want. You can edit them to push or pull in some sections, you can have them dead on the grid, etc. - whatever works.

depends on the band/style.
I tend NOT to 100% a lot of the stuff i do, but then i havnt done any super fast tech stuff 'played' by someone punching above their weight in a while.
