Well now that I am not in school I have lots of extra time during day before, so I wanted to brush up on some DVDs that I have missed out on.

If some people could offer me suggestions about some of the better music dvds that have come out within the last few years. All of mine got stolen a few years back, and I havent really purchased one since then. The more music videos the dvds have better since I could play them on my Metal Monday gig while it still lasts.

If you are a dream theater fan then SCORE is as good if not better than their Budokan dvd.

The new Kamleot dvd is supposed to be good.

In August the Heaven and Hell dvd is coming out, in July 7th the Rhapsody of Fire dvd is coming out, and I think the Megadeth in Argentina dvd is out already.

hm.. What about that Iced Earth dvd released maybe a year ago? It was the DVD version of the Live in Athens CD that was released years ago. I've heard the quality isn't particularly wonderful but still worthwhile.

You got the PP dvd, right? :p

I agree that the Kamelot is great and the Iced Earth is well worth watching. Hammerfall's One Crimson Night, I think it is, older but good. Nightwish's End of Era is still the best DVD I have seen. Ones to stay away from imo are Helloween's, really bad sound, Manowar sounded terrible to me, In Flames was ok but some of the audio made Anders hard to hear.

Here's a few for ya:

Iron Maiden - EARLY DAYS
Judas Priest - RISING IN THE EAST
Dio - EVIL OR DIVINE
Rush - R30
Whitesnake - LIVE IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT
Yngwie Malmsteen - LIVE IN LENINGRAD
Dokken - LIVE FROM THE SUN

I also second those Evergrey and Talisman recommendations...

METAL: A Headbanger's Journey

This might be older than a few years, but it's a must see for anyone who considers themselves a fan of metal, or who might be interested in learning more about the genre and it's culture. Very well made, with great interviews that are fun to watch. :headbang:

Shaman - Ritualive
Kamelot - One Cold Winter's Night
Iced Earth - Alive in Athens (which isn't actually that good at all, but is a mediocre chronicling of an unbelievable performance)
Therion - Celebrators of Becoming
Abydos
Blind Guardian - Imaginations Through the Looking Glass

Kamelot- One Cold Winter's Night
Therion- Celebrators of Becoming
Nightwish- End of An Era
Evergrey- A Night to Remember
Blind Guardian- Imaginations through the Looking Glass
Whitesnake- Live In the Still of the Night

Some will say Iron Maiden, but I CANNOT stand the 2 second edit rule they use.

Gojira's The Link Alive is the best I've seen and own. Others I enjoy:

Blind Guardian - Imaginations through the Looking Glass
Evergrey - A Night to Remember
Rage - From the Cradle to the Stage
Wintersun - Live at Summer Breeze (from the re-release of their debut)

The Kamelot and Blind Guardian dvd's are both priority purchases......if you want a great Maiden dvd, grab "Visions of the Beast" - it has all the essentials!

Also, if you are a fan as I am, pick up the KISS dvd "Kissology".....great stuff.

Therion, Celebrators of Becoming -- don't let a high-seeming price turn you away; this is a six-disc release: 4 DVDs and 2 audio CDs. Well-worth the price, especially if you shop around for a decent deal.

Excellent choices, I forgot about that Triumph, very cool! I still need
to grab the Rainbow Munich DVD...
