Ghost Reveries is a fine album but it's also more polished than anything else I've heard from them which is both a blessing and a curse. The clarity and texture of the sound opens up a lot of doors for the band, a lot of the songs' passages would have sounded awkward with the production that BWP and Deliverance were given, but a lot of the atmosphere from Blackwater Park and Deliverance is missing and at times (although it may have a lot to do with the new songs too) the band come off sounding dangerously similar to Killswitch Engage. I have a bad feeling they might have compromised their sound a little bit.
