MARTYR, NOVEMBERS DOOM, SHATTER MESSIAH Confirmed For CHICAGO POWERFEST - Dec. 20, 2006
CRJ Productions, the promoters of Chicago Powerfest, have announced that the fifth annual metal festival will take place on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. All ages welcome... plus CD/merch vendors on hand, giveaways and more.

Since its beginning, the Powerfest continues to establish itself as a weekend event of unrelenting metal... featuring internationally known and up-and-coming bands spanning various styles/sub-genres of metal with one common goal — to give fans a show they won't soon forget!!

To date, the first bands confirmed for the fest are Canada's technical death metal artists MARTYR, and Chicago's very own dark metal artists NOVEMBERS DOOM...both currently occupy the second and third slots (five total) on the Saturday night of the fest. In addition, Ohio's thrash metallers SHATTER MESSIAH, featuring former NEVERMORE/ANNIHILATOR guitarist Curran Murphy and ex-ARCHETYPE vocalist Greg Wagner, have confirmed as the Friday night opener.

The remaining bands, which also include both headliners and both direct supports, will be announced in the upcoming weeks as they become confirmed. Ticket information will also be made available once the line-up is complete.

how long will you guys play for? I may see if I can fly over.

If all goes as planned, the headliner will make LOTS of people fly in to Chicago.

Hmmm. I was already intrigued when Martyr wasn't a headliner, that #1 slot must be big. This makes it sound like there's a bit of a uniqueness factor to the headliner, which probably rules out Nevermore and other bands that tour fairly heavily. Hmmm again.

BTW, I'll suggest that Rob and Chris hire the sound guy from Lot4, I'm sure he works cheaply :saint:

I can't make this. I have a few baseball games over those days.

This is definitely worth the drive if I can make time.
