Mixing clean guitar

Hey guys,

I tried searching for this topic but didn't really find much. Maybe due to the terms I used, I don't know. Either way, here goes.

We're doing a small piece as an intro, it's going to have a clean guitar going for about 15 bars and then a slightly OD'd guitar comes in over it doing a lead. How would you go about mixing that? Clean double-tracked 100L/100R with lead in the center? Clean 80L, lead 80R? Clean center, lead panned slightly left or right?

Later on there's going to be a distorted guitar coming in with bass and possibly drums (nothing major, just chord strumming) and then it goes back into the clean part.

How would you do it?

no, 2 takes rhythm L60 R60, 1 lead C

oh alright, it was kinda dumb to figure rhythm should only be one take haha.

and yeah we're working on some synth parts as well for it. as neither of us have a keyboard at the moment, we're kinda just winging it, seeing what sounds good and what doesn't (via programming in guitar pro). I'm probably going to listen to some emperor, lunar aurora, and limbonic art tonight and see what they're doing synth-wise. (this is an intro piece for a BM demo, btw)
