I'd imagine that they want to keep the same basic chassis layout as the 212 combo rather than narrowing it up, hence the seemingly unnecessary width.

Sheffields are just Peavey's name for their stock speakers - they get a bad rap, and definitely have a "unique" sound, but I think the crunch they have is kinda cool personally!

shef's are ok if you want a killer speaker just put in a black widow if you wanna stick with peavey speakers

Apparently they are made in china unlike the 212/heads (which are usa made), thats why they are so much cheaper. They probably want to compete with Bugera in the low price range, as weird as it sounds.
